Plenty of early big money moves, many staying put, some head scratching, some inspired and plenty of rich young men thus far this weekend.

Worst moves - Redskins

You have booted out the GM on the first day of free agency, your QB seems to have his head turned largely because you won't commit to him. Your two 1000 yard receivers have bolted out the revolving door. Still you haven't blown a small nations GDP on Albert Haynesworth so it's a winner thus far. I pray the skins aren't going to let Collins walk at the end of this season because they can't franchise him again.,-

Bears

Alshon Jeffery out of the door and and Mike Glennon in at QB throwing to.....until he gets benched anyway.

Panthers

55 million over 5 years on Matt Kalil, who was released by the lineman hungry Vikes. Obviously getting burnt on Oher didn't slow the Panthers down. Is is what happens when a draft and free agency class is poor at one position. It's also why teams don't let tackles hit the market often, they are worth far too much and are to difficult to replace.

Best Moves

Eagles

Alshon Jeffery on a one year deal and Torrey Smith a on a cheap three year deal. Carsten Wentz is going to love this combo.

Browns

The best guard available a good centre a second round draft pick. Ok I am not sold on the deal they gave Kenny Britt at all, especially with losing the younger Pryor at WR who has a lot more upside but overall it's a better day than not.

Jaguars

Campbell strengthens the DL, Buoye partners Ramsey to make the best CB combo in the league. Now if Dion Jordan can turn it around and fulfill his potential this could be a frighteningly good Pass D.

Wish list

Texans get Romo, let's see that D in a Super Bowl please. Clowney and Watt on the big stage at the prime of their career.

Cutler to the Jets....makes to much sense, a team and a player seemingly made for one another....

Haha Brain Fart moment. I of course the similarly underwhelming 3rd overall pick from a couple of years later Dante Fowler.

Patriots

(As usual) Trading a 1st and a 3rd for Brandin Cooks? I'd take that for a proven receiver any day, although he will need paid next offseason. Saints obviously had issues with him plus have Michael Thomas and Willie Snead to soak up targets, and now don't have to pay him and get another 1st into the bargain. Plus they traded a 2nd for Kony Ealy, which is a total Pats move - roll the dice on a guy who has been inconsistent but who played the biggest game of his career in the SB.

Packers

Jared Cook made another dumb move, no surprise there. The Pack gave Martellus Bennett 3 years, $21M - did Cook really think he could top that? Talk about overplaying your hand.

Jets

Signed T Kelvin Beachum. Under-rated move for me, Beachum was terrible in Jacksonville last season after signing a multi-year deal, but he was coming off an ACL tear and now - two years removed - he could be back to his old self. Well worth a shot.

Giants

Got rid of Marshall "swinging gate" Newhouse. Hallelujah!

The Patriots are left with like a handful of picks, none of them within the first two rounds, I'm really wondering what Billy Boy is trying to do here, especially as he loves to draft defensive players early, so this drafts big pool of defensive talent should actually get even him excited, yet he traded those early picks away.
But maybe this is just a sign that either Garoppolo or Butler will be traded away? Maybe even both?
Those trades would benefit him with some nice early picks for sure...

I believe the Saints also sent their second round pick to the Patriots. So really the Patriots drop about 8 spots in the draft, and swap their 3rd round pick for a top young player.

Or it just means he sees Brandin Cooks as more of a missing piece they need than any player they can draft?

I'm pretty sure that if the Browns offered their 12th OVR pick before and got turned down, they're not going back with that deal now. Patriots could be hungry for a top round pick and Browns actually hold the leverage now.

If there's one person I won't secondguess, it's Bill Belichik though.

From NFL.cm

No 2nd round pick mentioned.

Right, seems I remembered it wrong.

The point he made is legit though.

The Pats give up 1st rounder (32nd) and drop down 15 spots in the middle of the draft to get a pretty proven deep threat WR with age and upside.

I'd say it's a good trade.
