Honestly before playing in the Elite league I thought a relegation match between the 3rd Elite team in the division and the 1.1 Bowl loser would make sense because you'd want the best possible teams in Elite, now that I'm in my 4th season here in Elite I have not changed my mind.
There's a huge difference between 1st and 2nd place in the division (A home PO game) then there's a huge difference between 2nd and 3rd place (Avoiding relegation) but there is no difference between 3rd and 4th meaning that once 2nd place is out of reach teams can start tanking. If the 3rd placed team played a relegation game versus the 1.1 Bowl loser it would make the entire league more competitive. |

The 1.1 Bowl participant is guaranteed to promote. There cannot be any relegation game...

The forced relegation and therefore forced promotion of the superbowl D1 teams causes some change in the Elite which I quite like. In Galaxy it causes a fine rotation of teams. I don't wanna miss that.

From the original issue of supposed unbalanced divisions within RZA Elite now we ended with talking about tank. As usual much confusion. Just to make it clear, both 1.1 Bowl participants, the winner and the loser, are promoted. Does someone potentially want to promote a weaker team (the 3rd best from 1.1?) to obviate the supposed imbalance?
Take into account you can't send a team to a different region compared to its original one, so "crossed" (i.e. interdivisional) play out/play off are impossible. |

I would prefer this version too. And yes, it does nothing to put the strengths of the regions into a more correct balance. But this would be much more complicated to change. |
