It says on the 18th retirees closed to the transfer market. So if you are allowing your retirees an opportunity to play for another team and no one wants them will you be able to fire them when they come out of the transfer market say on the 20th or later depending on when you put them in.

I may be in trouble now as my player comes out on the 18th with no bid on him currently.

I would ask you to at least make it possible for managers to fire retirees that they tried to sell and no one wanted and post that date in the calendar. To keep your current rule as it is I believe all retirees, if put on to the market prior to the 18th should be out of it by the 24th. or earlier. I would ask you to make the 25th be the date where you had to make your finale choice by. This would be prior to playing your 3rd game in the league and give managers the real opportunity to try to sell the off prior to just firing them.

I am those who would prefer you doing away with the new rule change completely

Well - unless I'm mistaken there was plenty of time after rollover retirement announcements to transfer list and then fire, if desired, before the 18th/1st league game.

Guess people are going to have to timely manage their rosters.

Sorry but I take offence to your post, the mannerism and the look at how great I am attitude. You who have been playing for years and one of those who has the hoards like rule changes to help you stay at the top.

Sorry I was not informed about this rule change It was sprung up on me and others some of us don't have time to read everything all the time and I missed anything about not being able to fire your retirees until I read this. I am sure others are in the same boat, all I saw is the deadline for putting them into the transfer market in which I did.

I think Pete and everyone can understand that if you put him in the market and don't play him and he doesn't sell you should be able to fire him. I placed him in the market with the idea of firing him if not sold. It is not posted on the 18th in the calendar when you have to keep or fire them and you can not fire him while in the market.

Maybe Pete can make it so those who have a retiree in the market can post to him and if they don't sell he could remove that player from your roster as a one time favor. I would also like him to fix it so if we keep this rule to have 2 dates like he has for everything else a date that you can sell to and them fire at the end of that period.

Offended by my post?

Huh.

As for rules that keep me at the top. WTF are you going on about?

We all play by the same rules and they sure don't keep me at the top..

Wow.

Lighten up. Enjoy the game.

As said Punch. You had enough time to sell your player. Your mistake was to not read the news soon enough. Rollovers come with new rules every season. Now you know to pay attention for the next seasons.
And you still have 2 days to sell the player. Dont give up on that. And if you do not sell it, it is note a catastrophe. He does not have a 500K salary and he can still play. This is not really a waste of money.

On the side note, there was nothing to be offended by in Punch.

no his salary is 200k and no I wont be playing him as I wont be competing this year I need to build up the exp on younger players

Sorry but you should be able to try to sell your players and if they don't sell drop them in real NFL you can and you should be able to get rid of you players at any time period.

Maybe you should put down a post for your player in the 'Transfermarket'-forum...Lacy Boisvert is an excellent LB/SF/CB and has Int 50 and 5* Exp.

It would be a shame if he wouldn´t see a snap in season 25

Once again. You could have put him on the TM Sunday or Monday and still have time to fire him if needed.

Now being able to fire a palyer at anytime is another debate and I actually share the idea. But the rules are like this currently so we need to deal with them.

To be fair to him on Sunday the site was down for a few hours during rollover which basically only gave him Monday to put the player up for sale. Countless suggestions have been rejected in the past because "not everyone can be expected to come online every day" and this was a new rule of which the details weren't really clear at first. I think it's super harsh to force him to use a roster spot and pay his retiring player all season simply because he didn't react quickly enough on Monday.

I feel like Pete would have never done something like this a few years ago. He would have suggested the change, discussed it in the forums, listened to the ideas of managers, warned everyone ahead of time and then implemented the change a season later or so. In this case between the idea coming up in an obscure thread and the implementation there were only a couple of days, very little discussion, no warning and an explanation leaving details out and confusing many managers.

Of course he could have put him on the TM on sunday or monday...but sometime RL makes other choices?
I mean, if i would get paid real $$ for playing that game...hell yeah, in that scenario i would totally agree with you
