It was suggested a few years back but I felt compelled enough to bring it back up. Not sure how exactly it would work, but I think that the coaches rating should be somewhat random since not all great players in real life are great coaches, and maybe a benefit to potentially lessen the risk of the random rating could be that the player may be willing to sign for less money if he feels any sort of loyalty to the organization (I.E. Player played his whole career here, or played there for most of his career, maybe something with how many bowls he won while with the team and/or how many individual awards he won), or maybe some sort of boost to the team as a whole since the team is familiar with him and may want to "play harder for their coach"

Honestly ... just let the team choose how good the coach is. Not very realistic but who cares ? adds a bit of fluff to the game to have your old players back as coaches.
You can pretty much sign a coach of whatever rating you want anyway. |
