Basically, is there a clear link between the two you think?

RESEARCH:
Over 7 random games I counted the following inteceptions:

Q1 2
Q2 7
Q3 4
Q4 8

So Q4 is the highest and Q1 the lowest. Obviously small sample size so rather than analysing loads of games I thought it better to ask the community

P.S.:
Funnily enough, the opposite seems to be true of fumbles:

Q1 3
Q2 3
Q3 1
Q4 0

id place more weight looking at one team, than matches.

more chances will likely be taken as the game progresses, as teams look to play catch up - so more passes on more downs - so the chances of picks are automatically going to increase.

you could well get mismatches on certain plays, where managers have differing settings for substitutions, but its all relative really.

Well it's actually 7 games for one team but with opponents included. For my team for example I see quite a big increase in Q4. But I play only one QB so hence my question, it's related to this question: does it make more sense to play two QBs for this reason I wonder.

I suppose it depends on your playbook in the given games, if you send me a full copy of your playbook I will take a look for you 🤣

I doubt it's related to fitness level exclusively. I think people tend to pass more and longer (higher risk) towards the end of games. People also tend to throw medium passes at the end of a half with seconds left too...which are often picked off.

Seven games is a pretty small sample size.

Maybe I should clarify...I have no doubt that fitness plays a small role in interceptions - - as I'm sure it has negative affects across the board. But I hardly think it accounts for the difference between 4 interceptions versus 8.

If this was anywhere near as big a factor as those numbers suggest, then we'd see everyone playing two and three QBs in a game to avoid this issue. I think before you conclude this these numbers are largely due to fitness, a more extensive examination of the numbers would be required. There are just too many variables and to small a sample size.

Fitness level also determines who is on the field, it could have been tired superstar corners intercepting against fresh 2nd string QB's and WR's, or tired superstar LB's and DL's creating more pressure against 2nd string OL's? In these examples it's down to fitness levels that the mismatches have been created, but not because the offence is tired.
