when you've had a proper think about that come back to me. Do you mean they shouldn't be playing on any of them or that there's a difference between christmas and the other holidays? |

Finally your sort of getting it. Every seasonal holiday is celebrated differently, they have there own traditions, there own way of playing out. Christmas day is that one time of year when everything is or should be closed down for the day with exception to emergency services, tv stations fire example, businesses that can't be shut like that for obvious reasons. So why should sport be any different? Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ if you believe in that. But always being with your family and loved ones, for those who have them its about seeing the joy and happiness Christmas morning. Whats a Christmas with an absent mother or father or grandparent.
Everyone keeps saying players are earning this amount and that amount. Its not only about the players. Its about the coaching staff and management ect. The press/journalists, NFL staff ect could be having the day off who's wife's or husband's are not happy at there partner having to be out working. It effects more than the teams and people don't get that. |

If I could, I'd take the extra pay on holidays 100% of the time.
It doesn't matter when I spend time with family and friends, but that I do. |

Well. What about doctors, militaries, cops, firemen, nurses, bus/plane/taxi drivers and so many other jobs that imply to work on Xmas day? There is no way every single family spend Xmas day together.
NFL players chose this job. They knew what it implies. Same for the coaching staff and related people. |

I'm fairly sure the majority of the world's population doesn't celebrate christmas. If you're viewing it as only U.S. as it's them working then isn't thankgiving viewed in a similar way? Someone in America would have to clarify that though.

Christmas is celebrated by different cultures differently.
The 25th is not important for all christian people, and for people with other believes it is even just another day. I can understand that you like to spend it the way you did decribe it. But then there has to a petition to stop 90% of the TV work, having restaurants closed and public transport reduced to a minimum to zero. I mean, where to start with "That's needed" and where to stop when the line of "that's unfair and not needed on that day" is overstepped? And I can relate to it, since I had to work on Christmas also. But sometimes it's needed or at least demanded, who ever is in power. I would like to make 10 petition prior to that to the NFL than a game free christmas day. Sorry. And that's it with this, at least for me. |
