I love the Redskins pick. Exactly what we need and has all the makings of a future Pro Bowler. Steal at #19.

Any comments about injuries are moot. There isn't a player in the NFL not susceptible to injuries. They can happen at any time to any one. Josh Doctson, our last year first round pick a prime example. No injury concerns with him - yet he has barely played a game for us.

I reckon a few teams will end up regretting letting Allen fall to us.

Great pick Washington....now don't f*** up the rest of the draft.

I do not agree. Watching live I saw the Bears fans eating their hats. Everyone in the room was stunned because their GM got played by a rookie. John Lynch and Sashi Brown had an awesome draft and manage to create great value for their team. The Bears would have gotten trubisky at 3 anyway so they gave pick for nothing. And they got a QB who has great stats against weak teams in 13 games. It's truly a headscratcher how they thought this was a smart move. It's panick and despair from a front office that does not even believe in the QB they just signed in the free agency...

My point was never that it was a good move or one I advocate. I am a Niners fan and I today am happy. My point was that when drafts are reevaluated years down the line after seeing how the picks pan out. If Trubisky really becomes a Franchise QB then the move will seem a great one and if Garrett and Thomas don't pan out as well then yes the Browns and Niners will carry the can for missing out on him.

Ah yes then, but in this case I think niners and Browns are both safe. The chances of trubisky to become a franchise QB are very low. History teaches us that 1 year college starters don't play up, and trubisky is no Cam Newton. Would he have stayed in college for 1 extra year and actually proved something I would not be so hard on him, but I actually think he's an arrogant kid who thought he was better than the competition in his draft class and was actually worried that another year of stinking against any good defense would ruin his draft stock. I would be happy to be proved wrong but it's a long shot.

On an other topic, here are a few picks I'm really excited about today:

-Dalvin Cook to the Vikings, I think they got great value here.
-Ryan Anderson to the Skins, since him going out of the national championship cost Bama the game
-Melifonwu to the Raiders
-Carlos Henderson to the Broncos. I mean what a number 3 to give their QB behind Sanders and Thomas

And the story for James Conner in Pittsburgh is very emotional even though he's not gonna run a lot behind Bell in a near future.

You can't disagree with facts.

And oakbark is right. In 5 years time, we will look back and maybe even 49ers, who imo have had the best draft on day 1, will look like losers. We don't know. Bears could've killed it with Trubisky. He's just using the bears trade up and pick as an example.

Edit: Maybe I should just read the entire host of new posts before I write.

Just read up on day 2 of the draft and dang Browns seems to be doing REALLY well!

They're already a good team on Madden and I think they'll be one of the best unless there's heavy adjustments or simply lowering of ratings because they are the Browns.

Imo, the Browns have "always" (the past 7-9 years) been just a decent QB and a semi-effective offense away from being a perennial playoff team. Being in the division they're in doesn't help them at all.

With Kizer, Osweiler and Cody in the house at QB, there's surely competition at all levels and they drafted really well all across the board. It's going to be fun to follow them this season!

Browns have especially missed a pass defense in a division where you have to play Joe Flacco and Big Ben 2 times a year, and AJ Green too (Dalton's credit has sunk like the titanic since Sanu and Marvin Jones left the building along with Hue Jackson). For the QB position they've been cursed, but also, despite having excellent linemen in Joe Thomas and Alex Mack they've gotten hit so often that we have rarely seen a 16 game season in a Brown's QB. Now they do have good pieces to build around, Hue Jackson is definitely gonna get this offense going (they have excellent backs with a hard nose runner in Crowell and one of the best satellite back in Duke Johnson, Coleman is gonna be great if he stays healthy, Barnidge-N'Joku is a deadly 2 TE set).

The question is how the defense is gonna click. There is high expectation on Myles Garrett, Jabril Peppers is truly an exciting prospect, but the main question is will they be able to shut teams down? I know last year they were already keeping games closer, but they need to make the plays to take the game away. I do believe the potential is there but they need to be upcoached to show the potential you speak about. This year I feel they will overtake the Bengals as the 3rd team in AFC North, at least. It was nice to reach for John Ross and Joe Mixon, but not fixing their OL with the pass rushers unleashed in the AFC North is gonna be a mistake they're gonna pay for a long time!!!!

The Browns D has actually been really good the past decade.

When you get no help at all from you O, it'll never show up in stats and the likes though.

Great draft for the Eagles.

Round 1 - the guy who broke Reggie White's college sack record
Round 2 - a pick for future - best CB in the draft, but injured - a gamble, but one worth taking
Round 3 - a tall CB with great ball hawking abilities

3 young, talented, explosive defensive players - to add to one of the best front 7s in the NFC and the mighty Malcolm Jenkins... one hell of a defense in the making! Some good off season trading has also potentially given them one of the best WR lineups too - so now Wentz has some weapons to throw to.

Just need a running game now

Sad to hear about barnidge
Otherwise for the Eagles Marlon Mack is still available and he will fit the stereotype of other smaller RBs that have had success in Philly
