Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, the only 2 others still in the league if I'm not mistaken

Kurt Warner started only his senior year at the division IAA UNI ( University of Northern Iowa) Eventually after some arena ball and some shelf stacking to gain experience became a Franchise QB.

Great QB's can arrive from players with little college experience, but the truth is that generally those with most starts and best completion rate in college tend to be the best statistical indicators of Pro success.

I think you're wrong, but can't find the list and I don't really feel like trawling through hours and hours of draft footage to find the list.

Trubisky and Newton aren't a 1:1 comparison. Newton started one year after playing another full season in junior college. He won the NJCAA National Championship in 2009 and then the NCAA National Championship in 2010. He didn't lose a game for 22 months. Newton is also 1 of 4 players to have played junior college football and become the #1 overall pick. He's a unicorn.

Trubisky may eventually show that he's uniquely great, but his and Newton's arc are not similar.

That's the thing. We don't know how great trubisky is gonna be or not, all we know is it seems like an awful lot of risk to take for the Bears for the following reasons:
-they just invested in Mike Glennon and they're sending the message he's not the guy (you still will have to roll with him this season)
-they lost their QB whisperer last year in Adam gase.
-they don't have much pieces in offense except Howard.
-their headcoach is in a hot seat, which might end up being good if they get someone in the like of McDaniel

I always understood that this is the reason why teams pick high risk draft players, no?

Well when you hear that John Fox had no idea the Bears will be moving up to take trubisky that does raise some extra concerns for his job security and his relationship with him. He never even interviewed the kid. It seems like a worst gamble than Jared Goff...

Yes that's why they have rolled the dice, it's not the way smart teams build but if you get lucky. Drafting QB's has never been an exact science. The best I can offer is you need the QB to grow up being a Niner fan ( Aaron Rodgers and Tom -G.O.A.T-) Who did Trubisky grow up supporting??

When I read the news about Fox, I think Pace shot himself in the foot. Fox is a longstanding coach. I believe that he should have been kept in the loop. He's not a Super Bowl winner, but he's not incompetent either. Anyone, other than coaches leveling up from a coordinator position or from college, would have to be crazy or desperate to work for Pace. If it were me, I would always worry about the day he'll make a critical decision behind my back.

This was his 1st draft as a GM and the 1st thing he does is this?
