Can anyone explain why I have taken a massive TC and Morale hit overnight without playing a game since yesterday's training?

Jeez, that sucks mate. I would report it in Bug Reporting forum. It sure isn't because you lost a game you should've won or incoming transfers.

And it is not the finances which is the other reason I can think of that causes a drop in Morale.

I can't do nothing but try and win through my games despite the setback. It might change my focus in the offseason and I slash my squad, I am not sure yet that largely depending on events towards the end of the season!! |

Oh dude, that sucks. You must not remember the heat I got when I changed ALL my coaches right before the play offs two seasons back. I knew it would wreck my play offs hopes, but it seems that you just learned the hard way

I had to learn that lesson to. Hard lesson to learn. Make sure you have the facility turned on that helps with it.

I hire/fire coaches and players all year. I also move players to positions after position switch periods all year also. Team chemistry is harder to boost back to normal, but morale is easier.
Activate the Players Lounge and Swimming Pool each non-training day and your morale will increase each night. Win games if you can and run at least one of the facilities through training. Good luck.
