As much as I would enjoy being able to trade players I strongly recommend not to implement as it would be a pain.
You would need someone to review all trades or we would have lots of new teams prior to the draft who would then trade their first round draftee for crap. We might get this lopsided deals done with a dedicated guy who is willing to put in considerable time time for this job. The real issue comes with the deals that are borderline unfair, and this guy who oversees the trades will have poisonous discussions with either the trade partner he wanted to protect of an unfair trade who thinks he pulled of the deal that put his franchise in the bowl, or he would be accused from league rivals of the apparent winner in the deal why he did not stop that cheating. Not worth the pain imo |

Actually there have been some issues with Airbnb with 'guests' using accommodation for purposes considered unfitting by the owner(s). I won't go into specifics but some of the same activities on film might be 'X' rated
This just proves that you cannot trust all strangers. |

this game actually has the fairest method of trading players that I have ever seen. I want to trade player x. I place him on the market and everyone can bid on him that would like him and then with the money I get if anyone wants him I pick up a player from another team. the trade is made with no mess no fuss.

Yep. That was my thought as well. All trades are crowd moderated already.

It is a shame that direct trades cannot be done - I understand all POVs, but direct trades/transfers are part of pretty much every team sport - and sometimes whilst the TM is pretty fair for all who want to buy players up for general sale, to achieve funds rather than players, there can be a need for just bodies - no cash - of course as long as there is parity/fairness.
One idea does occur to me....all players have (preset) values attached to them as minimum sales prices when listed on the TM....can these not be used for trade purposes? As long as the values are equal of both players of each team, the trade can go ahead? You can have easy parameters here : one player per team to be traded - no 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 values must be equal teams can only trade with each other once per season maximum Maybe a further parameter could be that teams can only 'trade' with each other outside their own leagues. So no Admirals to Admirals trades - even 1.1 to 2.1 etc. A lot has to be up to the individual managers - we all see things differently and have our own ideas of what we need. I don't think it fair that someone or some people act as judge and jury on trades...but as long as there are simple yet strict rules in place, I don't see why it cant at least be trialled, even for (say) the first 3 weeks of a season, or until Gameday 8 etc as a 'transfer window'. Come on Yoda....don't close your mind to this just yet........ |

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am all for trading, and implemented all the needed stuff back in 2009. But when we ran the tests, it was clear very fast you cannot calculate values of players. This is the main issue. The calculated minimum sales price works because you can overbid it once you think a player has value. The minimum price is in no way kind of a good value to determine the value of a player during trades.
