Anyone know how to get the substitution settings to be more fluid?

If I set 3 DEs as first string, then all three play equal amounts regardless of who starts and the energy percentage I set.

If I set 2 DEs as first string, then the 3rd doesn't play any downs. Even when subbing at 98%...

Is there anyway to have first stringers assigned who get substituted when only when they get fatigued?

the only way is setting the sub setting lower than 80%
I run about 60-65%
at lb i run 6 total

let in my last game my top 4 LB got around 50snap while the other two got around 30 snaps

as for de i run 3 first two got around 53snaps the ither got 30snaps

All player in the rotation have 1st string checked

By top 4 you mean top 4 OLBs, or MLBs and OLBs combined?

So if I understand correctly, you are saying something like:

MLBs
LB1 - checked
LB2 - checked
LB5 - checked
LB6 - checked

OLBs
LB3 - checked
LB4 - checked
LB5 - checked
LB6 - checked

And setting the sub percentage at ~60%. And this results in the top guys on the lists staying in for more downs?

60% seem pretty low. What I really want is for the starter to take a break once every 3 or 4 series to prevent the starters from getting that low in the first place. So for instance, it seems like there is not way to get your starters to just come out when they go below 80%?

what's wrong with setting the sub level to 80% and no player is checked?

I assume that would do the same thing a 80% and all players checked? Meaning everyone would get the same number of snaps. Or does it have a different behavior?

The biggest negative to that would be that you couldn't have emergency players unchecked on your depth chart, but I could live with that if it actually gave the desired substitution behavior.

I usually play with 50% sub settings and no checked players.
I also have 2 DE only players and the rest is DL in general, the best of them being starter at DT and NT and 3rd DE.
I play often 3-DL-Formations and i get that the top 3 liner (The 2 DEs and the best DT/NT) do get similar snaps and the next one do get 30 to 40. % less snaps.

It like this for me
Mlb
Lb1checked
Lb2 check
Lb3 check
Lb4 check
Lb5
Lb6

Olb
Lb1 check
Lb2 check
Lb3 check
Lb4 check
Lb 5 check
Lb6 check.

DE is as follows
DE 1 check
De2 check
DE 3 check

I am after snap count ratio so play around with it. I only notice real difference in snap number after setting the subs less than 80%

Thanks for all the responses. I'll have to play around with these options. I never even considered letting a guy get 60% fatigued before spotting him. Seems dangerous, but it really all depends on exactly what impact fatigue has.

I'm more concerned with how well they are performing in game at 60% fatigue.
