How important is Strength for QB performance? I've been looking at forum posts. Jack6's guide lists it as an A-skill for QB and it is mentioned as important in a few places. It is also featured as a trait in "Strong arm"but how much does it actually affect performance and in what ways?

It isn't listed as a primary contributor to ints and it seems like speed is more important for sacks, even if the rusher no longer needs speed > QB speed for a sack to be possible.

Does it affect completion percentage? Only long passes? Does anyone have a good sense of the impact?

I don't think strength is very important. Doesn't seem to effect much. Speed on the other hand is probably the most important rating for a QB, because so much of their performance in the Game Engine is tied to speed. Slower QBs get sacked frequently, and get pressured more frequently on passes (leading to interceptions and incompletions).

The only thing I can say for a fact is that the manual says "Tackles and Blocks need strength, passing the ball too." So I take from that "the more, the better".
What I think Punch's numbers show though, and what I've generally found, is that the players around the QB have the biggest impact, good o-line and receivers who can get open.
Ideally you want strength and speed as high as possible, but don't waste loads of time on just the QB.

str in not a must have. But like anything esle it helps when a QB has good balance of speed and STR.
my best qb i ever had had 50str 50int 40speed.40agl. But this was before LB blitzing blizt at 75% was added

now my current QB has a chance to pass him

49.8int
45str
50spd
37agl which so far has not hurt him

last season in league play
Plays: 1264
Pass (Att/Compl/Int/Rating): 899/530/17/84.4
Pass (Yards/Lng/Avg): 4941/63/9.3
Pass (TD): 49
Rush: 8
Rush (Yards/Lng/Avg): 31/13/3.9
Rush (TD): 0
Fumble: 1
sacked 5

this year so far league play
Plays: 663
Pass (Att/Compl/Int/Rating): 476/288/10/82.5
Pass (Yards/Lng/Avg): 2587/37/9
Pass (TD): 23
Rush: 2
Rush (Yards/Lng/Avg): 5/7/2.5
Rush (TD): 0
sacked 3

this year over all games
plays 1419

keep in mind also i pass alot and only run with one QB so some int are to be expected when you pass as much as i do.

I think what Punch's numbers show is that speed is very important. I have one of the best O-Lines in Admirals 1.1. 4th place for pancakes in the league with 1153. Yet, despite running primarily sets with a FB and passing all short passes, my star QB has been picked 15 times (9th most in the league), and sacked 36 times (14th most in the league). So obviously his low speed has been a huge factor, and having top notch guys around him hasn't really helped.

My numbers show me that my 36 Dan Marino type speed has only been sacked 6 times in League - 9 total including SC this year.

36 speed - 9 total sacks - speed not much of an issue for my guy.

Ooh. And just 1 INT thrown. It happened in an SC game.

I suppose the competition is important as well, but as the numbers you posted earlier show, a slow QB will get sacked a lot even with a top end O-Line in front of him. A fast QB will ONLY get sacked with a crap O-Line in front of him. So one player's speed rating is far more important than the abilities of the rest of the squad. And really the reason why speed is by far THE most important skill for QBs. Everything else pales in comparison.
