i too think that experienced teams should not go back to amateurs overnight.
perhaps a gradual reduction in skill is fairer, every game week they lose 2-4 points randomly from each of the offensive, defensive and special team categories. I dont know how this could be worked out or even if it could be worked out at all, but a gradual reduction could probably be fairer to all in the long term. |

A gradual reduction would require more work on Pete's part, and not really fix the problem, since someone facing the team at the end of the season would still be getting the bot advantage. Better to do it all at once (like now), or keep the team intact (would be better).

If the team is indeed the same after habing botted, it hsould be removed from playoffs.
Modest Mouse would have been a pretty safe option for* the playoffs IMO. Last edited on 2017-07-22 18:11:16 by MonsterT95 |

I agree with this being an unfair situation (I have been on both the positive and negative sides of this).
My simple solution is that Bots teams get 'frozen' i.e. they keep their skills but they do not train. So gradually they will diminish in ability compared to teams that are trained. They can be automatically relegated. Now the question is how do we deal with new managers taking over a bot team? My proposal would be that they take over the team as it is. That is what happens in real life. If a coach or manager is sacked the team is not torn apart before a new person is appointed. They go with what they have - for better or for worse. Why should RZA be any different? However, if, as it seems, Pete (and maybe other managers) want newbies to start at scratch then why not clear out the BOT teams at the start of the new season (thus avoiding rollover). Newbies would only be offered a team that has been loBOTomised! |

In RZA it should be different because, contrary to Real Life, you get a random team in the region you chose.
Why newbie X would get a top 1.1 team and newbie Y an average 2.x team ?? Yes RZA is a simulation but there is one part we can't copy from real NFL/NCAA, etc... : the manager, because it's just... us |

I have a possible solution with the over time low down problem.
A team which goes in bankruptcy loses the best paid players. Why not set teams, that goes bot, in prebot mode with no money. The time moves the best players and when it reached a level below 40% it changes to bot. |

I personally have no issue with a bot team winning the play-offs. Just makes the flush a bit more complicated, but if the team was that good during the year, they probably should be winning the playoffs. That is kind of the point. Keeping the bots competitive for the season they turned bot. Last edited on 2017-07-23 04:21:05 by Rock777 |

Instead of going bot, have the managers frozen out of his account where the tam would play on for him. The team should remain as they last played with all training converting to main positions skills and 90% physical condition for all trainings so the team will maintain its physical condition to play morale should be frozen at 80% until the playoff season where it would be lowered to 0 that should prevent it from going forward in the playoffs
We have tiers 3 and 4 ect so anyone wanting to join the game would just be given an open slotted team that is available. Now when they join they will be playing other teams that are basically at their level and not getting destroyed by other teams that have been playing for a while. This would prevent newbies from leaving so fast, it is demoralizing to play an overall team in the 60s when you rate below 40. Then at the end of the season have the bot flush and move each team up as high as they can go. so level 4 teams may jump right over level 3 if they are needed to take over botted positions. |

Hi Pete,
Just curious since we're talking about this again. Is there something (anything?) that would be possible to do to improve the current situations of teams going Bot in the middle of a season? I don't mean right now, or even in the near future, I'm just curious to know if you think that one day this is something you will be able to improve or if we're out of ideas at this point. Thanks in advance. |
