no wonder some older teams throw give up. When they still got a fight chance.But when the can lose 30 points + in morale against a team that is better or even.
Makes me wonder. What can be done to improve the elo? So it judges the teams of today not the teams of the past. Whats your guys thoughts about the hit |

I'm fine with the morale hit. It can be recovered fairly quickly if you aren't in a losing streak. And if it starts a losing streak - well that's football! (and other sports) And I don't think the hit is drastic vs an evenly rated team.

I agree that ELO should be limited to a fix number of seasons.
What a team did 15+ seasons ago with completely different players and coaches should have no influence on today's team. |

Same as you. I am fine with a huge moral hit in case the level gap is relevant.
I would index the moral hit on the team rating instead of ELO. Or I would adapt ELO formula. In the other hand, what I like currently is that it really slow down the tankers strategy. By taking huge hit due to their tanking, it maked them difficult to compete on important SC games. That I would like to keep. |

I disagree with that, the team rating is too easy to manipulate (by benching players for example). |

Just to illustrate my point on Monday in the SC I played many back ups, my team rating was 70.3. Yesterday I played my first team in the Elite league and my rating was 79.4.

my thoughs are this
A The last i check elo account for ever game you ever played.SO you are being judge for players you no longer have. B teams that have been here longer are more likely to be pone. by the morale hits. And yes i tanked a season in my eyes. As i gave up 6 games in the season as i could not get my morale up.(I hope that never happens again. Thank god my elo is lower now than it was then.)
