I see what you guys are saying but it's a fine line to be perfectly honest. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines hate as "To feel hostility or animosity toward."

Try this....google most hated players/teams in sports. You'll get a multitude of Top 10 Most Hated lists.

What is this supposed to prove?

If you Google "Osama Bin Laden was a great guy" I'm sure you'll get tons of results too

Its (probably) supposed to prove that there are millions of sports fans out there who hate their arch rivals. Its a fact of life. Some of us can sit around and afford "grudging respect" for the opposition, be they well-coached, more talented, lucky or some combination thereof. For many people it runs on simpler lines and cuts deeper to the core - and so its easier to simply hate them.

Levels of judgement of the opposition:-

1. Respect (as good as it gets; no-one likes the opposition)
2. Apathy (don't care about them or any other opponent)
3. Dislike (I don't like them)
4. Really dislike (I really don't like them)
5. Hate (if they were wiped off the earth tomorrow I'd be ecstatic)

Points 2-5 are essentially the same thing, depending upon your personal thoughts.

To get back to the actual pick'em...

SEVEN?!?!? Man, I picked Eagles over Redskins and the Rams over Colts in my other pick'em, and picked up the Rams DEF in several fantasy leagues. What the heck was I doing here!?!?

Isn't this basically a debate over word choice. I'm just showing that most everyone else is using that word choice too.

I understand what you did Steve but I think saying that a lot of people are doing something is not a good justification for that thing being correct. A lot of people say "he don't" or "I could care less" or believe that the earth is flat etc...

dead last with 5 and in a panic move, I switched my pick from texans to bengals yesterday (its a short week for a rookie QB with 1 Q of NFL XP vs. a veteran team with a good D and a middle of the road offense with homefield - or so I thought)... I'm so bad at this

Brewnoe, Naughty Dawgs (of course)

Anyone else playing 538s ELO/confidence version?

FiveThirtyEight has +177.2 points.
You have +253.4 points.
That’s better than 97% of players.
