Counter question: Why should a team be able to refuse promotion?

Btw...Why can discuss about not having two 2.x league, and 4 3.x leagues and so on...however, this goes along with the discussion how to do such a transition without harming existing 2.x managers, in Thunder and Dragons for the moment

And to add: most managers are not leaving because of being struck in a league level...to me it seems most managers are signing in, and leave immediately. Probably because looking for something like "Farmville for Football"...Do I have to care about them? In my opinion I dont have to, and I shouldnt do. These guys are not the wanted audience for RZA

About these guys I agree. I do not care about them either. I am talking about teams quitting us frustrated after a longer period.

Look at our first league. We have five teams that went BOT this season. Thats a lot.
Dublin Dragons Playoff participant the season before. Season 18-25
Maryland Drivers Season 22-26
The Firm Season 20-26
Ruben Patriots Season 24-26
КАФ Инђија Индианс Season 15-26

We had a discussion about them. Only Dublin was really active in the forum. The other were players unknown to most of us.

Then there are the other ones who were former Elite league members like Mombasa or vipers.

Because a season in the Elite League does not hold any advantages. The income will drop because of less stadium attendance, less sponsor money, less matches as no playoffs. ELO and morale go down. Where is the benefit ?

We have at least 2 regions that work fine (Admirals and Dragons). How about taking a look at what makes these 2.x leagues work, before we potentialy destroy these to.

I believe an active and helpfull forum, is a big part of our (admirals 2.1) success. Several players writing projections and welcoming newcomers. We have a lot of players going bot to, but we try to keep as many around as possible.

The benefit as such is in challenging the best and beating them. That's the aim of Elite for me. I knew this year I was not good enough to replace Thunders incumbents so I slashed my wage bill and used the season to XP my youth. The aim is to return to Elite and replace them. Tall order I know but Elite isn't about benefits it's about bragging rights and the challenge.

I'm not sure Dragons could be considered a region that works fine, its top 4 teams usually aren't very competitive in Elite. The last time a Dragon team won an Elite PO game was in season 16 for example so even the best Dragon team can't really compete against other top teams. That's proof that there's an imbalance at the top of Dragon compared to the top Fire, Monarchs or Thunder teams for example.

For what it's worth I think reducing the number of regions and therefore making the competitive balance more equal would go a long way to helping this game and since Pete just said that teams could potentially change region now I have renewed hope that we will eventually move in this direction
