I just read on an other topic that OLB might not get much involved in the passing game, except for blitzing & covering TE's from time to time.

Anyone having more thoughts on that ?

OLB's do make several of tackles when a CB misses.

They also on occasion get an INT.

I do see INTs from my OLBs as well, guestimating I would say it might even be as high as 50%. I even had one in my bowl game today, the best timed and best location to intercept the ball:

Q3 5:25 1 and goal to go on opp 3, Panagiotis Constantinides (OC) snaps the ball to Hilal Mahmood (QB), Hilal Mahmood (QB) selected Ira Mullis (TE/L) as target, Leon East (DE/R) breaks through the line, he passes inner left for 3 yards to him, intercepted by Abbas Hasan (OLB/R) on the opp 1 for inches (Singleback Big vs. 3-4-4) more

OK, 50% was wildly off the mark, it's 30%, here are my interceptors:

Name Pos Int
Daan Engels CB 7
Luke Calvert CB 7
Abbas Hasan LB 4
Dominique Maisonneuve LB 4
Baird Glengarry CB 3
Sudarak Supachai CB 2
Fath Qasem SF 1

It largely depends on the defence your running and the offence you are facing. Certain matchups have the OLB heavily involved, whether this is good thing or not depends on a lot of factors.

I largely won a playoff gane last year (conference game iirc) due to three interceptions from my OLB.
