Btw, there are more managers out there who refuse to use the transfer market in a heavy way - and this is not limited to me and Drogon for sure. Having success or not is not bound to using the TM. Using the TM just can be faster, if the manager does it the right way. I refuse to use the TM on a regular base as well, and except from a few purchases all my staff is homegrown as well.

I do not want to spend money in the TM because : - I do not want to give my money to other competitors through the TM (my opponents) nor help them, should they have any financial issue. - I already spend money with the Youth Academy (Premium Academy) and that's enough. - Why would I spend money ? You can win without a big salary if you manage your contracts well. Last season I won Elite with a salary of 3.5 million. I am selling a few players right now and expect to have my salary down somewhere between 3.5-4.0 million for this season. I do have to admit that I spent a lot on the TM over the last few seasons to get the players I wanted to develop for the long haul.

Yeah I wasn't saying spend huge ... my point was, I spent a ton of seasons never taking anyone's top skill over 40 out of salary fear. My suggestion was, don't do like I did lol ... there's a happy medium, and it's not 40.
Also 18/22 starters homegrown ... most of my TM additions are just filling in gaps from what the YA won't give me, which is the high Int positions lately. (And I haven't been in position to draft one of those in a LONG time - S23 Elite draft was barren of good MLB types) Last edited on 2017-08-30 17:31:28 by Gambler75 |

If you win, your strategy was better than your oppenents one. If you lose, there must be something wrong in it. But most important, whatever you win or lose, if you take pleasure applying your strategy, that's already a victory!
