The rules are quite obvious and well explained and known to all players. There is no excuse for when they are penalised.

In the case of Keemum last week its because the ball is flipped at the opponent it doesn't matter that it was pathetically soft. Officials know that if that is done then its a flag. Happened last year with Terelle Pryor and Allan Robinson too. Pryor flipped the ball at the tackler and Robinson' spun the ball at his tackler.

There isn't an excuse here the head official clarified it last season that as soon as the ball is directed at an opponent after making a play its a flag.

Of course Eli Manning solves this by directing balls at opponents during the play...

It bothers me because it hurts your own team. Chris Collinsworth underlines it in his commentary - it's selfish.
If you think you're better than the other team/player - prove it by playing better.
Barry Sanders underlined it in his play - act like you've been there before.

You're a Wisconsinite that doesn't like the Packers? My brain can't process that!

Let's just pause for a moment to think of Sanders in his prime. Responsible or the vast majority of the greatest two yard gains you will of a see (amongst his many other great plays obviously)
