I think it will be tough for the Committee to leave out 2 power 5 conference champs in such a situation.
PAC12 out? Fine, that was clear since both teams did lose often and had no real tough schedule. BIG10 out? Sure they could do this and honestly I'm not sure whether Ohio State is really better than Alabama, but this will always also a politically debate and under such circumstances it's hard to imagine they will leave out the highest ranked BIG10 team against Alabama. But you never know. |

Well, that is from my point of view another nail into the coffin of that system.
When the system in on the line again (so in what? 5-7 years?) the power 5 conferences will eventually expend to 8 so that at least all power 5 champs are in. But that would mean +1 game for those playoffs. |
