I've noticed that my interceptions this season went down a lot. I think my CB and other defenders are still pretty good. So what the working understanding on how this part of the game engine works?
I used to think it was related to QB experience and vision and a lot on defenders intelligence. But I'm not so sure anymore. Also, I noticed that it's not really correlated with getting pressure on the QB... Steve SD Blitz |

Not that I follow your team at all
but didn't you retire 2 CBs that were 4.5 star ratings. My guess is thats the reason |

Actually, they retired a few seasons ago. Just looking at the last two seasons, things have dropped off a lot:
S26: 10 / 16 games 0.63 ipg S27: 3 / 13 games 0.23 ipg Steve SD Blitz |

As far I know i would say:
QB, WR/TE , OL, CB/LB, DL Skills, int, exp, PC, TC and moral + luck. Last edited on 2017-10-20 07:17:27 by Fincyril |

Interceptions are so rare that you'd need hundreds of games per season to be able to have useful data. Over only 16 games the luck factor plays a huge role.
For example, my best CB had 12 INT in Elite last season on 758 plays. This season, with higher skills, he has 6 INT only in 801 plays already. If one player's numbers can be halved despite his skills improving 16 games is clearly not enough to compare INT rates. |

The LTD (Lopsided Tactics Detection) may also help.

Hmmm....honestly, I haven't seen the thumbs up/down have any affect on games. Does it actually do anything? I thought it was mostly experimental on Pete's part.

The D just makes a better guess what will come next, and reacts better. Of course this will result in better game play, and therefore in big plays as well pete wrote: Dont mix the "expectation" thing and the penalty for lopsided playbooks. Edit: I know why you were confusing it, my mistake, will try to use better wording next time. Both things are doing "expectations" somehow. But one thing (in game expectation) is trying to guess the current play, while the other thing is checking the game tactics / playbook at all at game kickoff. If a lopsided tactics is found, kind of an overall penalty kicks in. Btw...both add to each other. Penalty when passing very few formations |

Not sure it really has much impact though. Still seeing teams that just throw out of SG-4 all game easily defeat opponents with higher team ratings.

I joined last Sun, spent 3 days reassigning players, an hr on PLAYBOOK, only took 20 min, but i kept copying my empty playbook onto my full one and erasing it. My first scrimmage.... 5 interceptions, and 3 returned for TD, we are averaging 3 a game (6+ when we scrimmage ourselves, and my qb only threw ONE interception, so its not my QB feeding my Def.
intelligence is 5th, 1. defense selected 2. target vs coverage matchup 3. skills of rec vs def 4 skill of qb - rush 5. intelligence 6. play preference "key" in play book situation page just after formations? there is a key skill for interceptions, but no one has listed it here yet. Ill let you know for sure after I win a few |
