i think we need to allow Pete to look into it and gauge what he feels is best.

if a newbie comes into the game you would believe they have some idea about American Football and the NFL and understand that injuries are a huge part of the game. If they are that fickle then I guess they will leave soon anyway as this is not an instant win game. Any introduction needs to be balanced and consider every aspect of the game - not just things from a newbie perspective.

Pete clearly believes there is potential and room to develop this aspect - its good he is finally stop being lazy and looking at this - after that, what will be will be.

How about a salary cap to make things more realistic?

Personally I think there should be more injuries in the game. I dont think we need traits just up the frequency of them and increase the length of them.

i definately do not think we need more roster spots. There is little point in increasing injuries on the one hand if we also allow teams to have extra backups to combat this on the other. Injuries should hurt a team and add another layer of management in adjusting to them.

Finally i think that increasing injuries adds another layer of strategy. currently some top teams run with small but high level rosters. You can do this currently with little risk as 95% plus will be available throughout the season. Backups arent particularly needed. This is a legitimate strategy and should continue to be so. But the risk with running with such a roster should be that in this sport you will suffer injuries and run a risk of being in an adverse situation because of that. Currently this isn't factored into the game.

Any major changes to this great game should be added carefully. Long term injuries might have a huge impact to the game and some managers might even leave the game because their franchise QB is out for the season. I think a new trait , injury prone or something , discovered with scouts can be added to make the game more real.

I agree with Sailors- extreme caution in changing the injury system. And if injuries are more severe (sometimes) then make the TC build up quicker so a free agent could come in to fill the gap sooner- a la Adrian Peterson to the Cardinals.

I fully agree with you guys, changing the balance of injuries would impact many other parts of the game from roster management to finances to the TM so if done this will have to be implemented extremely carefully.

And Merry Christmas everybody!
