I put my team into the challenge pool for all free home/away games and then I see things like this:
2018-01-03 03:07:55 - Challenge canceled for 2018-01-05 17:00:00 for playing away at Burnaby Bruisers due one participant accepted another challenge 2018-01-03 03:07:55 - Challenge canceled for 2018-01-05 20:00:00 for playing at home vs. Burnaby Bruisers due one participant accepted another challenge 2018-01-03 02:17:17 - You were challenged by Burnaby Bruisers 2018-01-03 02:17:13 - You were challenged by Burnaby Bruisers What happened here? I do not have a game scheduled for 1-5 and I am a subscriber. |

You have to accept the challenges when you get them - before someone else accepts.
It does not automatically assign you games. |

But don't worry if you are in the challenge pool the engine will find you an opponent
almost every time. Next time when you see a message that a team has challenge you, go to challenge page and accept it to be safe. |

That's not really an option as I can not be logged in or constantly get alerted when a challenge is made. I thought it would automatically accept challenges or I wouldn't have sent $25 in. |

The challenge from Barnaby was not from the Challenge pool, it was a manual challenge (probably via "Forum>>Who is online")
The Challenge pool will run later and give you a friendly if you have activated it |

Best thing to do it just propose your own challenges, then the first person to reply will give you a friendly.
