Right now, we don't have good clock management. We'll have to live with that until Pete figures something out. In the mean time, plays at the end of the game sometimes take more the 30 seconds to do. This means you have to set up a rule to kick a Field Goal with 45 seconds left in the game. This seems a little excessive. Would be nice if the team was always able to call a play at 0:01. This would at least emulate some very basic clock management.

Right now there is nothing worse than seeing your team have the ball on your opponent's 25 yard line on 1st down with 31 seconds remaining in the game... (Either that or you have to watch you team attempt 60 yard Field Goals on first down with 44 seconds on the clock). A guaranteed play at 0:01 would enable people to call Field Goals more reasonably.

I find field goals work fine. With 30sec in playbook. But under that the field goal is unlikely to happen.
I agree clock management is needed

I've had the last play of my game be at 30+ seconds several times. In those cases you would not kick a field goal if you had the rule set to less than 30 seconds. Can cost you the game. Not really safe to do it at less than 30 seconds.

i set my game winning/tying FG at 45 for this very reason. Just to be safe.

after looking though seval games this season plays only seem to last 8 to 29 seconds. Few plays taking longer than i thought

It not cause any issues so far. But i do have two lines for FG
One at 45sec for 30 and under
and at 30sec for 35yards

I don't have any issue with time management and FG in the latest few seconds of a game.

If your winning, then the standard 29-31 seconds run off between plays, but if you are losing with two minutes remaining at the end of 2nd or 4th quarters, it is about half that.

I think the area that needs the tweaking is 2nd quarter two minute drill. A team with a one-point lead in this game does not turn to hurry-up offense, but a team with a one-point deficit does. In reality, even a team with 20+ 2nd quarter lead would still be trying to score again

Back then Pete thought that a team in the lead should not hurry in the 2nd QT. Maybe he's changed his mind now.

Also, this should only apply in the 4th quarter, in the last 75 seconds before the half it doesn't matter whether you're leading or not, you want to try to score one more time before the half so hurry up for everyone's fine in the 2nd quarter.

Guaranteed play at 0:01 would still be an improvement. No real life team would attempt a field goal on 1st and 10 from the opponents 40 with 29 seconds left on the clock. A guaranteed play at 0:01 would better emulate clock management and allow people to kick the field goal more realistically.
