Ok I need an opinion...
I have 2 players that I don't know if I should re-sign for next season. While they are both outstanding players, they both want a metric ton of money. I've been debating all season with myself on if I should re-sign them or not and I can't decide. First thing to consider is that next season will likely be a wash for me. I wont be re-signing my QB from this season and will be starting a 20yo rookie straight from my YA. I'm not trying to tank this season, but this new QB is the teams future and my current QB is old and not very good. It'll hurt in the short-term but be better long-term. Because of that, there are lots of players I dont intend to re-sign knowing they wont be around when the new QB is ready. These two players are 29... so young enough that they'll be around but both will be ready for retirement right as my new QB hits his stride. Here are the players: WR - Kob Louanglath 29yo STR/SPE/AGI: 46/49/33 XP: 5* Sticky Fingers/Track Star Wants: $180,000 - - > Note, I have plenty of great WRs on the team but Kob is likely my best. DL - Stan Haag 29yo STR/SPE/AGI: 50/43/35 XP: 5* Wants: $180,000 - - > Note, Stan had an outstanding season this year but wasn't the best DE. Am lacking good DL talent on the team. If the transfer market was open I would try to seek them, this being said I tried to sell players of the same age earlier this season and I’d not succeed at all, sometimes you get some millions, sometimes they are just not desireable enough despite their talent and value for excellent teams.
So I would do the cut early in the new season to sell all above a certain age. You might want to look at what the Spartans or Cool had done back then, I also did this once and it helped building my strongest team so far. |

Yeah, I tried selling players but most of them want too high of a salary so no one wants them. Really isn't a market for veteran players. |

Maybe it will be easier with the new season. In the beginning managers might get competitive and invest into a good season knowing new players will make the 100%TC on time for the second half of the season.

In my experience you're best to wait till a few weeks into the season, at the start of the season there is less money available since everyone invests in the mediacenter and there's a strong influx of drafted players on the TM.

Neither are going to get very much on the TM (because of their salaray) - if they sell at all. The most i'd get is maybe 2-3mil per player. But, i'd have to invest in keeping them for at least 3 financing days till they sell... assuming they sell on the first try. So i'd be spending 600,000 per player to keep them on the roster PLUS the selling fee which is like 1mil a player or something astronomical like that. Just not worth it. I shoulda just made up my damn mind and sold them while they were still under contract.  Too late now though, another manager contacted me via PM and convinced me to drop them. |

Finished recontracting my team. Total players salary got bumped up by $1m......
But still, our salary level is only about 2/3 of the league average...  |
