I might be wrong, but lil'Tom didn't look like he was regressing like Peyton did à few years ago.
Also they already survived à season without him (2008) while the same HC and OC were dealing with Matt Cassel.

Sure they'll need to find some QB soon, but this year draft's 1st round isn't an absolute need.

I'm sure they tried. Probably were willing to eat some of that contract too. Thats the NFL
