I imagine it is in a large part because people want to play in a league with other human teams and more competition. So they join Admirals.

Yes and I'm sure it's great for Admirals but unfortunately it's also not so great for the other 7 regions.

Focus Guys, Focus! I'm slowly getting tired of reading off topic "rivalry" posts over and over again.

Just want to add that Bot teams are a problem in X1 leagues as well, even if there are only 3 of them for instance. Because they screw up a whole season for those teams who dont face them at all, whereas those teams who face bot teams several times within their regular season have better WL ratio for free.

Maybe a solution (whilst spreading the word):

Just give bot teams "AI".

Questions that guided me to the AI idea:

Why do bot teams constantly miss to pick the BPA in drafts?
Why do bot teams have to be that bad that playing against them is a safe W?
Why do a teams Overall Strength drop e.g. from 70% to 39% from one day to another when Bot has taken over a former human managed team?
Why not doing the Overall Strength drop at season rollover?
Why not re-set Bots Overall Strength at season rollover to a leagues avg Overall Strength +3% of theire leagues respective human managed teams?
Why not random bot team's defense play calling?
Why not giving bot teams an at least mediocore skill set that human managers really have to be aware of?

Couldn't bot teams be slightly better, with a random range too so we wouldnt know exactly how good they would be? slightly higher again for league 1 and again if it were ever to happen in elite.

perhaps the skill of the bot could be some calculation relating to the average in that league -5%/ -10% as the random factor.

alternatively the lowest in the league +5%/-5% as the random factor.

doesn't change the fact that people don't want play in leagues with bots and in a online social game its no fun to play without any interaction. Must be boring as hell for new players who pick leagues with hardly any humans. I know that in Thunder 2.whatever i don't think I posted or read the forums at all after my first visit.

I agree with all of the above. Although people probably want to play in leagues with more humans they definitely want to play more competitive games. In fact chucking them in with the current level of bots gives them automatic promotion and then when they get to 1.1 too quickly they really struggle. Maybe that is why people then leave. Not sure if we have or could even get any stats on that.

Personally, what I would like to see is that even if a player stops logging in, that their team doesn't go bot until season rollover. Their team would continue with their last used depth chart, playbook etc. This may mean non active players make playoffs etc but I think I prefer that to having bots.

The above system would be for 1.1 and elite leagues, in 2.x leagues the current bot system should probably remain, although I think the time period that teams go to bot is too short at the moment.

I think its more that in these days most players only want plug n play, (I start today and want to be a top tier team within 1 week) and the time it takes to play a full season.
...

Answer to this might be found in a RZA vs RZC comparison.

My solution would be that a bot is losing after each game his MVP to free agency. If he's down to the min. number of players he will get the normal bot-level players in exchange.
