We were using a different sim engine for non official matches, starting with season 29. What are your feelings? Please check the poll above

I have run over 100 scrimmages. I don't really see much difference.

I ran a ridiculous amount of scrimmages mainly testing 434 defence and I found it was better, not the best compare to 344 or 335 but close, better when blitzing than not too, and, against sg2 & sg4 with 7-10 to go to 1st down there wasn't ANY bombs......
I then used the 434 defence in a friendly match and there was a bomb...so I think for 434 it's better

From the change log:

2018-03-04 14:36:38

Engine V4.40, enhanced formation matrix for better balancing

I would have expected comments like "SG4WR i still too strong", or "The balancing of SG4WR is working better now"...

Maybe my expectation is wrong. Maybe a good portion of managers dislikes the better balancing of SG4WR, because it would result in more work needed for doing good playbooks, because it would kill the superiority of "let's go for passing out of SG4WR all game long"...

Looked to see if shot gun formations were effected. Found maybe a small change but nothing that is going to change the way I play. Found running out of the NON shotgun formations may have been beefed up(which I think is a good thing). I don't use RBs so its hard for me to be really sure. Tried out the 4-3-4 Defense and its still far worse than the 3-4-4. Im hoping the 3-3-5 and dime will defend the pass better than the 3-4-4 but I have not tested that. Outside running still seems to be better that inside running. Tested a bunch of defensive personal changes, but The best Defense is still 50 speed linebackers who blitz as much as possible. I am hoping better statisticians will share what they find.

I was still able to move the ball as usual with SG4 so if you have made it harder I'm fine with it...
I'm assuming that if it isn't the only formation used or only 2 formations being used then it would work "as good" as any other formations still? Just not "better"?

1 last point, I scrimmages loads of random offensive formations with 75% blitzing and there was ALOT of sacks with non-FB formations still and that's with a 49speed 47agi QB..... so maybe this still needs sorting....

Yes, it was not about killing SG4WR plays. It was about reacting better versus this offense formation from a defenive point of view if the SG4WR get's called too heavy. One of the examples, only.

Another one was the imbalance among defense formations. Against deep passes I 3-17 or dime or 3-5-5 should work better than a 5-2, obviously. So I was trying to make this a bit more ...matching...
