Whitings, the surprise of Season 28, showed that they are here to stay having given the Jockstraps a good run in the division last season. This time they have to prove it all again against Wolflings. Wild Thangs have to put their disappointment of last seasons' performance behind them and get moving forward again if they want to be challenging for the divisional title. Rumours coming out of Hawaii is that Coach stizz is having his players doing the "hot coals" runs on Kilauea to toughen them up for the forthcoming season. Knobsters arrival at this level is due to three good seasons of player management by Coach knobby, but their infrastructure development needs to improve in order to become competitive at this level. Wolves will aim to close the gap on the Machine knowing winning the non-divisional matches are just as important as trying to beat the Machine face to face. The Miners and Knuckleheads have both got to find that something extra to close the gap on Wolves and Machine to be sure of avoiding the relegation pit fight. This season Cheesehead is aiming for promotion so do not be fooled by his diversions to play hard against them. Xu Da still have to find that consistency that they are lacking in order to challenge the Alligators for the division, while being aware that the Hedgehogs are charging after them. The Hedgehogs showed last season that they have improved with giant strides since their last visit to this level. Now knowing they can compete at this level we all have to keep a close eye on them. DragonTigers return to this level after two seasons of progressive development in Thunder 2.2. It will be a close call as they are very strong in other areas. The Cardinals will hope their #1 QB has settled in the roll so they can progress with challenging Cougars for the division. The divisional rivalry between the two is one of the best in the league and can only get better. Juggernaut are getting there. They have had wins that have surprised, but also losses that should not have happened. Will Bomber Command's air attack get them those extra wins they need, maybe some laser targeting can cut down the interceptions. The Sharks return a little bit stronger and a little bit wiser. Have they found the answer to stay at this level? This is a division they would have wanted to avoid as it could be a struggle to make an impact. Prove my wrong please Cesar. The AC Conference is getting more interesting as each season passes, more teams are strong enough to make the play offs. Junior teams are closing the gap on the senior teams. For a change I am not making forecasts I am just going to keep my beady eye on the way things play out and save my analyst to the weekly match reviews. They remain heavily favoured in this division, but they cannot rest on their laurels. Jinonice seem to improve each season. Can they do it again? Closing that gap on the Bolts has to be their main target, but to do it they have to be more consistent with non-divisional matches. Pamplona state they did better than expected last season, but can they step it up this season as new boys Pinoys have come up to make a statement so this could become a hell of a dog fight between these two for 3rd place in the division. If they don't win the division with ease then jetto will have to do the mountain bike run through Salzburg backwards. The Whalers will be their main competition, but they may still be a season away from their best. Tabula will work hard this season to see if Basterds have any weakness he can exploit. The Frogs will be looking for a bit of improvement this season. The wise head of LMajor7 has them financially sound and it could just be a matter of prising open the wallet to strengthen the squad a little bit more. epics, having survived a relegation play off, are in trouble financially. With no funds for infrastructure development it means there are no funds for squad strengthening and leads to the question of whether Coach epikDurant will be seen in Season 30. Last season saw the Llamas get close to them both. This could be a serious three way tussle for the division, it it not going to be easy to split them and now Whispers are joining he fray bringing a significant development that the other three will have to be wary of. The NC Conference has a little bit more space between the top teams and the rest, though this gap is closing at a slower rate. Again I will do no forecasts as I am already keeping a close eye on my opponents and wait to see what the season brings. A wise head would say that Thunder Bowl XXX would have The Machine playing the Basterds, but as we saw last season it is not always the stronger teams that reach the Bowl to go onto the Elite. If I looked at the league as a neutral I would say that each conference has at least 10 teams that could make the play offs based on face value, but as they say "On Any Given Sunday" anyone can beat anyone. I for the most part don't check the forums, so I'm just dropping in to say hello. The Juggernaut have a revamped roster and hope to make a little noise this season. Thanks for the season preview, an interesting read.
