Since some people feel that playbook and luck determine all outcomes in the new engine I thought I'd see if this is actually true.
So I checked all Elite and 1.1 league games (excluding the bot games), determined the difference between overall team rating for that game (bottom of the match stats) and listed if the higher or lower rated team won. Difference in rating between 0,1% - 2% 192 games played - better team won 113 (59%) Difference in rating between 2,1% - 5% 253 games played - better team won 150 (59%) Difference in rating between 5,1% - 10% 259 games played - better team won 196 (76%) Difference in rating between 10,1 - 15% 96 games played - better team won 87 (91%) Difference in rating greater than 15,1 109 games played - better team won 109 (100%) So basically there is only a relatively small advantage to the better team as long as there is less 5% deifference in overall team rating. It gets pretty big as soon as it goes over 5%, it's extremely hard to win with a +10% rating deficit and (for now) it's impossible to beat a team this season that outranks you 15%. For those interested in the big upsets: Claymore: Voghera - Aalborg Galaxy: Dumbarajko - Guiness drinkers Sea Dwellers - Budweiss Monarchs: Shouldering Raccoons - Little Town Shouldering Raccoons - Albuquerque Dukes Sea Devils Naprzod Marsz - Dalton Catamounts Thunder Whispers - Jinonice Ridge City Frogs - Inbhir Narann Severnside Cardinals - Pamplona Walls The teams on the losing end of the games above also seem to make up a pretty big chunk of the games lost with ranking difference 5,1 - 10%. In short, my personal opinion: if you're consistently losing to teams with an overall ranking below yours with more than 5%, you really need to work on your playbook (either offensively or defensively, maybe both). Thanks Superpippo for the insight, but I am not a RZA member that complains about the game engine, unlike those I think your comments are aimed at, I play because I enjoy it win or loose. Altering my playbook when I feel like it or just letting the game engine run a random selection if I can't be bothered. It's all the fun of the GAME. It is not the be all and end all of everything in my life.

In other words, I need to work on my PB to bear your team in our second match this season soi can prove tous analysis is correct and your 3.0rating average is actually. It a real factor.
