The last two hours I read a lot in the discussions forum and it dawned on me that our QBs always keep the ball when being sacked. In real life the defense has good odds to recuperate the ball. It would be great if this could happen here too. Obviously strength, agility and carrying skills would have to be a factor.

What do you think ?

Agreed.

Carrying in QB should be a factor in ball protection.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
I think we have to deal with two different kind of situatiion.
First: the QB is running by himself ad he got tacked behind the LOS.
This is a TFL more than a Sack. I agree that here strenght agility and carring should play a big a role in case of fumble or not.
Second: the QB is sacked in the process of throwing. In most of the case the tackler comes from behind or from his blind side. The QB has not even seen the big hit he got where came from. In this case a fumble is quite probable.
I do not think there is a trainable skill in this second case.
I do not know in real life how many sacks there are for this two types.

Pete can use the ratings as he wants. To simplify the things basically Brees and Winston are very different in protectig the ball. Call it poise or call it carrying. Any QB tackle behind the LOS is a Sack unless is a designed run play with the OL moving forwards.

Carrying would be = Taking care of the ball when in possession. Otherwise an uncany rating of Poise for QBs would have to be added.

If it were possible I would like to learn something more.
A understood that QB with an higher poise has a better perception of what is going on around him and reacts better to the pressure.
Does it means that he allows a lower number of sacks and so less fumbles or that in case of sacks despite he is in the process of throwing he is better prepared to receive the hit and so allows less fumbles?
Is poise a trainable skill so in RZA as carrying or a innate skill like intelligence?
thanks

IRL Poise can be trainable but is an uncanny ability. As personality can change over experiences of your life, but you will always have an underlying predominant personality...
