Thanks once again, I'm especially interested in seeing your evaluation formulas, sending that too is amazing! I'll admit I don't use formulas at all, just colour coding on age, talent, teamwork and intelligence. I've thought a lot about what I'd want the formulas to do, and always over-complicate it |

It is not something spectacular. I actually think that my formula are quite simple and are not completely effective. The spreadsheet I sent still needs some work on it to cut players based on positional atributes (e.g. INT for LB and SF, SPD for CB and STR for OL and DL). In other words: these formulas do not work alone.

I do the same thing. I assign values via formulas to age, speed etc and this gives a total number for each player. I then sort on highest first but then manually sort the list to fine tune it.

The way I end up over-complicating things was to go on Best Player Available, but that my squad also affects BPA. For example; The best player might be a LB and the second best player a DL, but if I'm stocked with awesome, young LB's but have terrible, old DL's then the DL would, for me, be the BPA.
To get around that I was adding formulas to my squad then doing Vlookup's between the draft board and my squad on position and average "scores" of my positional depth etc. I was spending so long on this I decided a bit of sorting, and highlighting, followed by the eye test was much easier |
