Anyone have any ideas on how to get out of financial trouble? I try to sell players and they do not sell. The transfer market is dead. If I cancel their contracts I incur a steep financial penalty, and I have no money left to do this. If I fire coaches I incur a steep financial penalty and I have no money to do this either. I only have 3 facilities and demolishing them won't save me much money. My player salaries and coaches salaries are comparable to all other teams in my league.

Remove your youth academy, if you can't sell these guys you can fire them for free then not have to pay the weekly academy costs?

Maybe removing premium YA to save 500k a week if you run it.

The issue is, when you are now in financial trouble, you have a pretty high pressure to reach postseason to generate extra money or the financial trouble in the offseason will be huge with harsh penalties.

I would still say TM, but with the kind of TM we have today, you would be forced to sell a gem, like a high speed, high int LB prospect and make sure to advertise properly. And you are still not guaranteed generating a lot of money.

However, I have a rule of thumb, that 6.5 Mio$ coach+team salary is sustainable (with 50 Mio$ Mediacenter and premium YA).

However, I assume income of least 1 playoffgame and 2-3 SC playoff games as a normal season and have approx. 100-150 Million$ base cash reserve in case something goes wrong.

So you are not that far away with 6.5 Mio$ salaries but just 50% Mediacenter income (Thats losing 13.5 Mio $ per season). And you are still in CoC and have good chances reaching SC playoffs.
Manage your budget closely through the season and adjust when your postseason ends.

Losing a stud sucks, but it is better than losing a couple of veterans for nothing.

Btw, you can fire players, the penalty of canceling a contract will be deducted even if your bankroll is minus already. However, in most cases this is still a win situation if you compare those costs to the costs you have with keeping the player and paying him week by week.

That is true, but you have to pay the cash earlier, which can backfire when you cannot get out of the red before the next financial u p d a t e due to the earlier payment.

The penalties for being in the red for more than 4 updates are pretty harsh and will lead to the team beeing less competetive (especially once the morale penalty adds up) thus leading potentially to less playoff income

Still better than paying the full cash to a single player

Thanks for the ideas, I have disabled the Premium Youth Academy, and will continue to try and sell some players.

Premium YA is a big factor.

Also selling / cutting some players is big and of cause rearanging coaches is big.
With Supercup still an issue, I would in your case only try to sell / cut the ultra expensive players.

I would likely cut that 28 year old P and try the young one.

Cut all punters and use someone else in your lineup for double-duty
