Looking at this seasons upcoming draft in the RZA Elite League, I noticed that it seems to have a lot of punters and kickers (10). Doing some quick math I got roughly 10% of the draft is made up of punters and kickers. I am somewhat of a draftnik , having watched the NFL draft every year for a very long time and I couldn't recall seeing many Punters or Kickers being drafted each year so I did a little research. One site said that on average 1 or 2 Punters and 2 or 3 kickers are drafted each year. Combined that's 3 to 5 Punters and Kickers per year. Another site said on average 3.7 Punters and Kickers combined were drafted over the last 10 years. Another site said only one Punter and no Kickers were drafted last year. I would like to suggest that the number of Punters and Kickers in the draft be reduced to make more room for other more important positions. About 5% instead of 10% of the draft would seem about right.

The spread of positions in the draft reflects the needs in the roster, with some skill positions tweaked to show more often (QB, WR, LB, SF...)
However, it is a dice role every time, and sometimes there is a Punter/Kicker more, sometimes less. |

If some positions can be tweaked to show more often, then could't some positions be tweaked to show less often? It would still be a random number but a little less.
I don't have data on past RZA drafts but there always seems to be more punters and kickers than needed. I would like to see some community input to see how many people agree/disagree with this. |

Personally I feel like the drafted players should reflect roster needs more, like we should have 5 times more OLs than QBs since you need 5 OLs to play but only 1 QB.

Just my thoughts but I think we just should see more Players to choose from with 3 rounds of draft, so like double the number of Players and then at the end of the draft 50% are send to Transfer market / Player pool.
This 96 Players for 96 picks is a bit too much 'make a choice' for me. Usually I do sell / fire 2 of 3 Players of the draft. |

Agree because more often than not you are going for BPA rather than the position that you want as you know that in the 3rd round especially you'll be stuck with the rubbish that others don't want. We could at least have a choice of something like 120 or 128 players. I spend little time on the draft now because the quality of the players combined with their positions is not what I am looking for. |

Having to scout more than 96 would be the most useless and pointless waste of time imaginable. |

Advertisement: Users having a Supporter can download an excel, and scouting is more or less one click and a little bit of fiddling with excel. There is a one month supporter available, cheap and made to be used during the draft. You could use Credits for it. With the 5 Credits per vote at onlinesportmanagers it is quite easy to gain 60 Credits. Please do not not expect to be all for free full comfort - someone has to pay the hardware running RZA. |

I like the draft just the way it is. I am only suggesting a small tweak to the number of punters and kickers in it and was looking for feedback on that suggestion only. If you have other suggestions please start a new thread.

So it does sound like your draft got a bit overloaded with kickers, yes.
With any random aspect sometimes there will be too many, sometimes too little. Our draft (Dragons 1.1) has 1 punter, zero kickers. Watch, next time you need a kicker the draft will be light of them. AND PLEASE, not a bigger draft pool.  |
