The draft is a lot less important for me than YA or transfer market nowadays. I take a swing and am not really fussed if it doesn't come off. I am similar, although I am very happy when it does come off As for the point of this thread - I think dropping the age by a year isn't necessary but would be nice as it would get players game ready a year younger - so would make some of the lower skilled players more attractive |

what would be great if you draft a player young enough to go into the academy you should get the choice of putting him in to it to further develop after all if you sell him he does end up in someone else's academy

Just for historical comparison here's the average rating of my team on the last game of the season (when my team was at its top for each season basically).
I joined at the end of season 2. End of season 6 (after 4 full seasons played): 50.4 End of season 10 (after 8 full seasons played): 60.0 End of season 16 (after 14 full seasons played): 70.6 End of season 20 (after 18 full seasons played): 78.4 At that time RZA had ~800 players and only 2/3 teams above 80 rating. Now we have 375 players (at the time of this post) and 35 teams above 80 rating. This used to be a really slow build game, which is one of the things I love the most, it's now much quicker and easier to build a highly rated team. |

If your suggestion was implemented it might stem the huge amount of drafted players we see on the TM as soon as the draft is concluded. |

I am pleased with what was done so far and see - for the moment - no reason to change anything on the development speed of the game.

Maybe there is a chance for a pth in the middle.
If we raise the skills of around 15 or 20 players out of these 96, two things would happen: less successful teams have a big chance to grab an exceptional good player out of the draft. More successful teams still have a chance to grab such a player, if he was not picked by the other teams. This should make the draft a little bit more worth for those more successful teams, and it would help the less successful teams if they grab these future super stars. But, the overall speed of team development would not change so much. |
