Alliance of American Football League is starting this month with a 10 game schedule. My home town has a team, because we will never get an NFL team, thanks to Jerry Jones and Bud Adams.
Grabbing tickets to go see how they do. |

What are the chances for such a league to survive, or even better to make an impact in professional American Football?
However, enjoy the game. |

Probably not much, but from what I understand, this is a holdover from the USFL days, which had some staying power. We shall see.

Interesting setup and some interesting coaches on the teams.
If they have the staying power to sustain the league for let's say 2 to 3 seasons, they might get it going into the plus side of business. CBS is braodcasting it and it's in the NFL and college football off season, so maybe they will get some attention. It all depends on the wages and the numbers. |

I think they're setting it up as a minor league, like baseball has.

I like the rules, I like seeing former NFL players in it, I like the opportunity to see what Michael Vick will do as offensive coordinator, I like the regional aspect in the roster building.
I hope we can see some game recap and maybe I’ll follow this league. It worthes a shot. |

At the risk of starting a debate you do not want on this forum, the XFL is recognized as a Pro-Trump league. It’s resurrection timing match with the Kaep controversy pike. As an exemple, it will be compulsory to stand during the anthem. There are many articles detailing why the league is associated to Trump. You can make your own opinion then.
I respect people supporting Trump. My wife being from Georgia, I happen to know a lot of them. But I personally hate him (so does my wife) but that’s normal to have different opinions based on our background and actual life. Judging the others for their opinion can be dangerous or even unfair. But personally, I will stand for my conviction and boycott this kind of league. By the way, the linkage between the Pats (Kraft donating 1 Mil to the campaign, -G.O.A.T- showing off the MAGA cap in the locker room) and Trump is also one of the reasons I hate them too. |
