Yesterday I bought a 19 year old player who went straight to my YA Behind his name I see: Transfer to Senior Team (no ticket needed, transfer market exception) As I understand this it means that I can promote him to my senior team for "free" Why would this not be possible for draftees? Draftees enter the "market" with much higher skills compared to youngsters. The youth academy was made to provide crazy progress with player development. |

I was thinking about drafts and youth academy... And I came out with an idea: the players on the draft list could be all out of the YA of the teams of that region. Let me draw it better: before the end of the season all teams must turn at least 3 YA players, 18 yo or more, as eligible for the draft. With this, the draft may have more than 96 players to choose and all draftees could not go back to YA again. Some adjustments will have to be done. Less tickets to promote from YA to senior team, control of the number of YA players and much more. Please, be gentle with my idea... let's discuss it, please Sorry to be harsh, but ew. I put a lot into YA players, and would likely just keep three YA players in there without training them at all so I wouldn't be wasting good players by making them eligible for the draft. NFL teams don't have to give up prospects to make the draft work; why should we? |

I accept the "ew". It sounds gentle to me.
I did not realized that it would happen (managers keeping 3 below-standard players for draft). But I think it may be solved some way if we stop to think about it. On the other hand, I have to disagree about the comparison with NFL. First, because RZA is not the NFL. Second, because NFL teams do not have YA. In my point of view, the YA is a "second team" that we are allowed to have that helps to generate new players for the game as a whole. And remember: in this idea given, you still can promote youth players to senior team. But a better team management would be needed anyway. |

It's an interesting idea that I happen to not support. Good luck trying to get Pete to support it; I've been struggling to try get a salary cap established, so far failing in the process.

I am not trying to get any support. This is a rough idea that I hope it can inspire a similar (and much better) suggestion.
