I'll share a couple of gems I pulled a couple of seasons ago. Both are two-trait 19 y/os:

First came Smiley, a track star with sticky fingers. He isn't the brightest bulb, but 52.5 speed, OK strength (42) and the +5% catch will play well.

Four pulls later came Boren, another track star and fearsome to boot. This makes for a potentially devastating LB with 52.5 speed and a QB rusher, and for good measure, TW of 50 and decent strength (44.1).

Why do you think that? From what I read footwork is useful for OL (maybe TE) and defensive players only.

I am working to train his FTW while he is still in my youth academy and his BLK and CAT are decent to give him a chance at FB as well as not constantly dropping passes.

Again I'm not sure why RB needs FTW. CAT is not needed for FB and only marginally useful for RB as of now.

I've always thought footwork can benefit any position. surely it would indicate stability when lining up/ running/ turning etc. agility would impact the latter 2 as well.

I myself train footwork to a specific limit for every position except K/P. However, only on the OL/DL/TE do I train footwork without limits.

I've been training the footwork of my K/P to 20 as stepping up to kick a FG or taking a punk properly takes a small amount of footwork to be able to do well and consistently. Plus they max out their primary skill pretty quick anyways.

I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to train for k/p.
