Sometimes I would like to control what type of play I want my players to do, but I don't really care what formation they do it in. This is especially the case on offense. Let's say I like to run the ball up the gut on 1st down, but don't care what formation they do it in. Right now I'm kinda behind the 8 ball on that because there is no feature in the playbook that allows for you to choose 'any' as your formation. It would be really helpful if you could.

Just let the matchsettings kick in, aka do not give a rule in your playbook for this situation.

I think it is more so when you consider down and distance. For example :
2nd down and 1= run (big I) 2nd down and 2-3 pass (random) 2nd down and 11+ pass (shotgun 4wr) Match settings don't allow for this! I would also add to choose a formation but random pass vs run in such situations. In that case, scouting would be almost impossible to a certain degree. |

The playbook overwrites the matchsettings. You could create artificial holes in your playbook, nd let the matchtactics kick in at these certain holes aka situations. Technically, the current playbok implementation cannot handle "any formation", as it cannot handle "random pass/rush"
