Do you have or know of interesting material about our beloved sport? Just let it fly right here! Just like this:

O-Liner - A Species of Unsung Heroes

... and cleaning up the myth (pronounciation: mist (german)) that, especially Center, have to be "very strong" to do their job on Elite level. Technique and Football-IQ first.

Hey folks, you all know about Barry Sanders!?

I've got news for you:

Frank Gore is going to break his 2 decades lasting all time rushing yards stat coming season.

You think "not worth mention that"?

Prove me wrong!

i love gore hes a good solid pro and deserves his place high on the leaderboard for years of commitment and durability, but sanders dropping down the list is sad if he played as long as the others he would be above even emmitt smith he was such a talent.
looks like peterson could climb a couple of places as well if he remains clear from injury

It’s funny, the game Emmitt broke the all-time rushing yards record, I believe someone in the stands had a sign that said “Thank Barry” or something to that effect

Thats the "prob" with all-time lists, they do not take 'games played' into account.

If they would, the top 4 + Peterson separate each other this way:

Rushing Yards per Game
#1 Barry Sanders, 99
#2 A. Peterson, 89
#3 W. Payton, 88
#4 E. Smith, 81
#5 Frank Gore, 70

That 99 is worlds apart.

Fun fact: Zeki is at 101 yrd per Game. He "only" needs 100 more games for respective consideration.

For me it is not worth mentioning, since Barry is the best for me. No player did what he did. Just adding mile doesn't make you special.
Look how Emmit did break the all time leading rushing record. He was only a shadow of his former selve. Nice for the ego maybe, but not worth a second look.
And Gore was a good player, but that's that, worlds apart from Barry, who did basically play without a line for most of his career.
Imagine him behind the Cowboys line ....

Attitude also made Barry Sanders elite. Act like you've been there before. Some of the current crop of backs could learn a lesson or two from him.

Sanders was only 30 when he retired. What if he had played another 6 years? Imagine, as a poster above me and millions more have, Sanders running with a good offensive line in front of him.

Barry Sanders is the best RB I've seen in my life. Bo Jackson was probably the fastest, but Barry was the best.
