Also sorry to see you go. We did have a bit of competition between us for the division and it was always tough to play against you.
I must admit to not being totally involved now. I don't know why but there seem to be some crazy games going on. Two examples are our two games this season where in each game one of us (the one playing away) totally dominated the other. I would have expected both games to be much tighter, much more closely fought. Also we both had a couple of surprising losses - the most recent being yours last night. I was fully expecting to face you in the conference championship game. Now I have the dilemma of that game. Win and I get promoted to Elite with all the accolades that brings but then spend 3 months losing almost every game before going back to a random division in 1.1 That will be 3 months of being on auto-pilot since there is no way that I can bring my team up to the level required. I don't have the time to devote to it and even if I did I am not sure I could do it since I am already behind the curve. I would much sooner that we remained in the division and adjusted tp that - no promotion or relegation. Lose the game and I stay in 1.1 - comfortable but with little challenge since the new teams will face the same issue against me as I face against the Elite. Also my record will show a loss in the CC game and that I never made it to the Bowl. I'm not sure what the answer is but to me money seems to be the key problem. If you have enough (and the time) you can buy success. I could most likely buy all of your players but I prefer not to do that. I now avoid the TM (except in dire need) as I prefer to grow my own players and would much sooner pick them all through the draft. Anyway best wishes to you. Please do log in again to say goodbye. Although you have been my greatest rival for the past few seasons I will miss you and your team. |

This season I also wasn't fully involved, but as you I also found the outcome of our games quite surprising. It looks like a lot of randomness involved in results. Captain Jack wrote:

My goal always was to promote to a higher division and figure out the rest after promotion . I do understand you however that losing games is not fun and there's not more money to earn in the Elite. In 1.1 you'll probably win at least 13-14 games and be a serious contender for the conference finals again. Yes, if one has enough money, it's not too difficult to buy success. I basically did that on my run to the Elite. However salaries and missing super cup playoffs a couple of times almost sent my team to bankruptcy. I had to reduce my expenditures quite a lot to get back on track. But that's just my way to play the game. Captain Jack wrote:

I fully agree, it currently feels a bit like punishment being promoted to Elite from Monarchs. Much more effort, far less money and possibly less fun, because of opponents, that are playing at a totally different level. The gap is too big.
I was in a similar situation last season and decided to play with full strength to try to win the Monarch championship, being prepared to compete for the No. 1 pick in Elite. But it came differntly, I played a reasonble season in Elite and will be stuck there for another season. I am saying this, because I don't feel ready to compete with the best as I am still in the rebuild and will need another 1-2 seasons for this. But Elite doesn't seem to be that tough anymore, there are 10-15 teams, which are (far) ahead, but the remaining teams aren't better than yours... if you can afford to loose some money, go for it |

GO DUKES Either way, you're now the clear division favorite, so I'd call that a win-win. |

Well not really, the vacant space will be taken up with either the Leopards or Black Panthers from the elite league, both hard to hard to beat. Still GO DUKES Last edited on 2019-12-08 07:54:36 by kharton99 |
