Hello!

My title is pretty much my idea.

Considering how low the human participation is in most 2nd leagues (75 total human teams currently, 31 is in Dragons 2) I think they should be merged into one or two leagues, to increase the competitive aspect. The promoted teams can be then randomly seeded into the 1st divisions, just like how the current promotion system works and the relegated teams would just be pooled into the 2nd division.

I think this would be beneficial for both the 2nd divisions (an actual competitive league for every participant) and for the 1st divisions as well (the promoted teams would be infinitely more experienced and would have a better chance of staying and competing in the league). I don't know what is the percentage of the newly promoted teams avoiding relegation in their maiden seasons, but there shouldn't be any real argument about having more 'actual' opponents translating into a better experience.

Of course, this would mean that the traditional 32 team format for this division would be abolished, but that's probably worth the sacrifice.

Any thoughts about this?

The facts:

kickofftime region freeSpotsD2
12p Thunder 22
3p Fire 28
4p Seadevils 28
5p Monarchs 30
6p Claymore 29
7p Galaxy 24
8p Dragons 1
9p Admiral 19

I cannot just merge two leagues. if we merge Seadevils and Monarchs to Monarchs as example, it means nothing else then within a few months from now the whole Seadevils region would lose its managers except a few enthusiasts, because no single new manager can join this region anymore.

I would like to know how many managers have chosen the region based on kick-off time. I have chosen Dragons because of the cool name and the brazilian teams already in it. Never mind about time (as I can see match results later).

I chose it because it was the most competitive 2nd division.

On my first team, I chose Dragons because a friend was in it. He chose it because it was the level 3 (still open at that time) with the most managers.

Then Pete closed level 3 and asked us where we wanted to go. I picked Seadevils for the kick-off time. I did not like having the games playing after dinner time as I prefer enjoy my evening with my wife.

I stopped playing for a bit and joined again Seadevils because this is the most active regional forum in the game and I really appreciate the managers there.

Now, if I had to change region, my main criteria would be kick-off time, then contribution of the community (is the forum fun or dead?) and then competitiveness.

So yes, kickoff time matters, at least for one French guy.

For me, nothing had an influence on the region I picked. I knew nothing about this game when I joined, so I chose a random region and stuck with it, and now I stay because of the rivalries I have formed. Kickoff time had nothing to do with it for me.

I chose Thunder because of the ko time - I like to watch the games live on my lunch break

I think though that even if leagues were restructured or reduced in the future you could still have an early and late ko time with others spread evenly between

not sure where the dragons 2 number came from but currently there are 21 human teams, 4 of which have been around for a number of seasons :/

maybe a typo, 1 instead of 21.
