Bidding under the current max bid shouldn't add more time to the auction.
That would encourage people to bid their max and be done with it rather than dragging it out or making troll bids to keep the auction from closing. |

I do not support this idea but there is maybe another way.
We could consider having a limited number of bids per player (5 like for the HR?). It would prevent sniper bids and bids going for hours. |

That's fine. It's just ridiculous you have some extend the bid for hours just by bidding a small amount each time.

I dislike the idea of limited bids. And I find it quite fair a bidder gets some little more time on bids. Show me an example where the bidder was abusing the bid time extension by adding tiny amounts of money, and I will see how to overcome such action.

This example is ridiculous. Going dollar by dollar does not make sens. However I do think having something like 5 maximum bids per player would give a fun strategical aspect to the process.

Hence my initial comment of just put in the max bid and be done. There was no gain in wasting time bidding $1 until hitting the other's max bid when just using your max bid would accomplish the same. There's some annoying exploits that could be utilized in the current system, nothing game-breaking just super annoying and ridiculous.
That being said, Pete deemed it not enough of an issue or not worth the time/resources to find/create a workaround and I'll happily leave that judgement to him. I've only seen a few of these instances and hopefully people will choose to not take advantage of the system or troll other managers just to be jerks. |
