The simplest way to fill up the 8 regions would be to kill off the Elite league. We son will have 10 bots in the SD1 division. even if the four play there, there would still be six bots. I would prefer to solve this riddle by getting more managers. |

Few managers are few managers, regardless the structure.
The current structure is not ideal for such few players, but changing it would be a major transition project. A lot of stuff was discussed and a lot of creative solutions were suggested, but so far Peter decided to do only minor changes. That's understandable, since this is a hobby and it's his vision of the game. Sure, playing BOTs is not fun, but this will likely be the reality for many managers until the game does end. With such age, it's unlikely that it will get back to 1000 managers or more, unless some major 'it'-wave hit the internet and such a game becomes somehow pupular. |

The league structure has been discussed times and again for the past few years and imo the problem of having bots and not many close games just keeps getting worse.
Here's a post from me almost 2 years ago already asking Pete if he would consider merging two league ones together so this is absolutely not a new discussion, the only thing that really matters is whether Pete has changed his mind or not now that we've had the current league structure for ~2 irl years and we might be going in the right direction as he mentioned it as a possibility just 3+ months ago. What are your current thoughts on maybe reducing the number of regions Pete? |

I think a few folks are making it clear that this change is not going to take place because of the technical aspects and the time it requires to make the change. Let's respect that and move on, rather than keep beating a dead horse for two years. If we are going to now pivot to trying to bring in more people, one thing we can do is cool it with the "let's make changes, the sky is falling" posts. If I was new and came to the forum and saw these, I'm really going to question if I'm going to get involved in the first place. Why commit to something for a year, or two, or more, if people are posting over and over that it's going downhill? Instead I propose putting your energy toward contributing write-ups? Bring more life to the league forums, rather than just repeating the same tired posts again and again. That's what I'm going to do. Let's all give that a try! |

Maynard I completely right. And this thread is not about reducing the leagues. It is about getting new managers to fill up the current structure. With the pandemic, nobody knows how it will play out in football. But football season is a unique opportunity in my eyes as it comes back to mind for lots of people around the globe. Let's please focus on that aspect.

What are your current thoughts on maybe reducing the number of regions Pete? I dislike it for 2 reasons, at least: 1.) There is proof this region reduce does not help with anything but creating lots of work. See RZC, where we did that a few seasons ago 2.) I am not ready to give up regions as long as there are managers in there. And, if I would ever do, the change has to maintain a number of regions that matches the power of 2 |

We should launch an internal recruitment drive where people who get friends to join get some signifant reward. Word of mouth is the best advertising there is!
One of my friends joined and he is still here as I can coach him personally through the pitfalls of an early management career so retention rates should be a lot higher. Perhaps rewards can be x amount of credits or 3 month Supporter for each player that stays for more than two seasons. I am just spitting ideas out here, these are as always up for discussion! |

20 Credits per user that stays for longer than a few logins was obviously not rewarding enough. We have this incentive since day 0.

Ok, I am putting posts in Maxithlon and eventually in TrophyManager (if they let me). I honestly don't care much about the credits. But if they are there, why not. What does a new manager have to do for me to get them? |

What does a new manager have to do for me to get them? He has to login a few times during a few days. And has to have a different IĆ¼ address from yours |
