Hi Yoda,
in my last friendly match.. BULLS-LAKERS i tried a 90 yard field goal but... End of the second quarter. BULLS have the ball. 0:23 3 and 17 to go on own 27, Stefano Berger (OC) snaps the ball to Mariano De Giorgi (QB), Mariano De Giorgi (QB) selected Patrick Napoli (WR/R) as target, Nero Spada (OLB/R) seems to go for the blitz, Valerio Caserta (FB/R) blocks, this inner right pass is incomplete, the receiver was not able to make the catch, no progress (Shotgun 4 WR vs. 3-4-4) more 0:05 Pasquale Rovere (K) kicks the ball for the field goal, 90 yard field goal missed 0:05 Bertoldo Antonetti (K) kicks the ball for the field goal, 37 yard field goal is good 0:01 Bertoldo Antonetti (K) kicks the ball for 52, Mauro Maria Valentino (KR/L) returns, tackled by Francesco Bianchi (G/R), this was a 11 yards return, offense is on the field now, 1 and 10 on own 24 more I ask you why I don't know the rules: when the snap for kick starts, time doesn't restart? as a fourth down? |

It is really tough for the engine to deal with actions tht are kinda out of specs, like 90 yeards field goal attempts. In some situations we do try to come up with wild guesses, which works sometimes. But sometimes it does not. I think we could have taken 2 or 3 secs from the clock in this situation. Luckily, it would not have changed the outcome of the game.

My PB predicts a field goal on the fourth down if I am behind in the last 15 sec at the end of the second quarter without setting the distance (a desperate last kick). In this very rare situation I found myself in my 27 yards. Of course it is a really unlikely case, but for the future, in a regular match, with this solution I can risk worsening my score with an opponent's kick "given" even if there are few seconds left.
