Hope he's enjoying his retirement and waiting for a hall of fame enshrinement. |

Dumplings previews the playoffs (Edited following the comments by Tpal70)
So the regular season is done and the best 2 teams of each conference get a bye to the Divisional Playoff round, and they are: AC Juggernaut (15-1) - only loss was away 16-19 to the Wild Thangs (15-1) so have edged the #1 seed ahead of Basterds (15-1) - only loss was away 12-24 to the Wolflings (15-1) NC Dumplings (15-1) - only loss was away 21-24 to the Wild Thangs (15-1) who played their MOTY that week Whitings (15-1) - only loss was a 55-0 blowout at home to Juggernaut (15-1) As for the Wildcard Playoffs this is how I see it: Eskimos (13-3) @ Wolflings (15-1) - The Eskimos have only lost to seeded teams in the Whitings and Juggernaut twice (the game today was a close loss 33:31). The Wolflings only lost in week 6 to the Attack Dogs and since then have been on a great run of form. Dumplings prediction - Wolflings by 3 Mantis (11-5) @ Wolverines (11-5) - Despite the Wolverines loss today (courtesy of a coaching brain fart) they have beaten the teams expected during the season but I can't see a stand out win in their resume against another playoff team. Mantis also don't have a stand out win other than that great week 12 result (when they used MOTY) against the Attack Dogs, however making the playoffs from such a tough division is an accomplishment. Dumplings prediction - Mantis by 3 Patriots (10-6) @ (13-3) Attack Dogs - An all NC South affair and their score this season against each other is 1-1. The Attack Dogs won the division whilst the Patriots have battled all season to claim the last playoff spot with a 4 game unbeaten run. Dumplings prediction - Attack Dogs by 7 Xu Da (10-6) @ Wild Thangs (15-1) - An all AC South affair and their score this season against each other is 0-2 to the Wild Thangs. Xu Da's last 7 games included 4 Bots which they won but they lost the other 3 games. Wild Thangs however could have had a perfect season if not for a loss away at Eskimos in week 5. The reason the Attack Dogs lost in Week 12 was due to the Mantis using the MOTY setting. Don't judge much off of that.
It is also the reason the Mantis lost today. Great job Patriots on that MOTY setting today. Your players played well and went up by 4 in the 4th quarter. My team drove the ball all the way to your 21 but just could not convert after you stuffed me on a 2 yard loss on 3rd down. Also stuffed me on that 4th down, as I could not kick that FG due to your FG earlier! Great game! I have a sneaking suspicion that the Mantis vs Wolverines game will be a close game in the playoffs. The Mantis have not really done well against playoff caliber teams this season overall (other than that MOTY setting), nor have the Wolverines. However, if you look at common opponents (RC Frogs, Vicious Attack Dogs), Mantis lost to the Frogs by 2 TD, Wolverines beat the Frogs by 2 TD. Wolverines lost a close game to the Wolverines, and so did the Mantis. This is why I say............ Waukesha Wolverines win 17-14.....in OT |
