Yum....Calamari!

Totally lucky comeback made possible by a missed extra point. But Kraken were 5 for 7 on 4th down conversions (including a TD). However, the two failed conversions eventually lead to my two TD's.

In the last evening many players have left the runners to join their new clubs. Today, more players have insisted to be put on the transfer market as they don't see any future in my team. For details please check : Sell out top elite players

Quarter of a season down and there's been quite the shakeup throughout the rankings. Let's get to last week's questions:

Was I wrong about the Thunder being the strongest? Yep. Only the Bridges have beaten a team outside of Thunder. Fire and Claymore look way more competitive.

Will the NC wild card race be entertaining at all? With the Runners dropping out, probably not at all. Ducks, Ravens, Piratesfighting for 2 spots with the Elephants lurking as a darkhorse (darkpachyderm?)

This weeks queries!

Can Rome recover? Mascots, Sonderborg, Bonecrushers, Magpies, Blitz and Bridges again isn't the easiest schedule. They'll need to pick up at least 3 of those games to have a shot.

Does Fire have a new champion?Pr Chaser looks good, and that beating of the Ducks was impressive. Unfortunately we have to wait for the last 4 games of the season to see if they can wrestle the belt away from the TiCats.

1. (4-0) Willemstad Bridges (1)
"They'll play Rome and try to really stick them in an early hole." And inot the hole they were cast. The Bridges look better this season than either of their past two championship seasons... look out.

2. (4-0) Chelt Nam Bobbers (2)
Bobbers schedule gets a little more favorable as they come up against the now rebuilding Runners. None of the games have been close so far, this team looks ready to repeat as well, but maybe not the very last game.

3. (4-0) Home Malones (3)
3 games against playoff caliber teams, 3 wins by two or more scores. Zero scorigamis.

4. (3-1) Salt City Pirates (4)
The Pirates team is so good they made a 2-0 team rebuild.

5. (3-1) DC Washingtonians (5)
DC has quite the stretch of games coming up. They'll get to see how the Calamari shoot themselves in the tentacles, followed by games against the Blitz, PR Chaser, TiCats, Runners again, and Ducks. If they survive this they'll be in great shape.

6. (3-1) San Diego Blitz (8)
Steve graciously accepted the Kraken's gift of a last minute victory (Much to Dumba's chagrin) to keep pace in Galaxy. Saturday's game against Rome is really important for Tullo Ostilio and Tuesday's game kicks off a difficult stretch for DC.

7. (3-0) Diorite Lions (9)
The Lions remain undefeated after a last minute FG sealed a win over the Kraken. They've won games by 3,4, and now 2. They'll attempt to knock out 3 straight Fire opponents starting with the TiCats.

8. (2-1) Baltimore Ravens (10)
The Ravens are at a disadvantage now as the only divisional team to face the Runners at full strength. They'll get their first shot with the Ducks next week, but with PR Chaser tomorrow they can't be looking ahead.

9. (3-1) PR Chaser (16)
"an absolute gauntlet... the next eight games." 1-1 is a solid start. Ravens tomorrow is one of the tougher ones, we'll see if they belong in the top 10.

10. (3-1) The Masked Ducks (7)
"He gets PR Chaser on Saturday to continue his dominance of the Fire region." And that didn't go as planned, but that doesn't matter as much as the Ravens twice in 3 games starting next Saturday.

11. (2-2) TigerCats (11)
TiCats are all over the place. A dominating victory over the Falcons, followed by a crushing loss to the previously winless BoneDomers. Another tough one tomorrow against the Lions could put them under .500 for the first time since returning to Elite.

12. (3-1) Free Agent Mascots (18)
"He gets another shot to solidify this claim later this week against Sonderborg." And he did just that plus a nice win against the Falcons in the supercup. This is currently the Admirals team to beat.

13. (3-1) Saker Falcons (15)
"They get the TiCats and PR Chaser next to improve on the early playoff standing." They got annihilated by the TiCats but ruined PR Chaser's hot start. It's possible this team wins its next 4 games before a hot Claymore showdown with the Lions.

14. (3-1) BobBoy Magpies (13)
"I'm really interested to see how the game against Sonderborg goes" They won, but not in any convincing fashion, this division is still wide open. Bobbers on Tuesday should be interesting.

15. (3-0) Dumbarajko Elephants (14)
They've already defeated 2 Thunder teams, can they make the Bridges number 3? 4 of their next 5 are against last season's playoff teams.

16. (2-2) Hell Hounds (12)
The Hounds find themselves in 3rd place in Claymore, but 2 of their next 3 against teams not trying to win.

17. (1-3) Rome Centurions (17)
They staved off 0-4 but now are staring down the Blitz before taking on 6 straight teams ranked lower than them.

18. (2-2) Sønderborg 84-pounders (19)
"Well, this week will tell us exactly where Sonderborg fits." They fit, but couldn't quite pull off victories against division rivals, unless they can get revenge late in the season they'll be heading back to D1.

19. (2-2) Spacebar Kraken (22)
"The Kraken will need to channel that energy if they plan to survive the Lions or Blitz." That energy was great as long as the games were only 59 minutes long. The team is clearly close, but this will likely not be their season to make any noise, other than sizzling.

20. (1-3) Bonecrushers (21)
They announced they weren't dead yet after a domination of the TiCats, they'll need repeat performances with the Mascots and PR Chaser on deck.

21. (2-2) 2020 - RETURN OF THE JEDI (24)
"The real challenge starts now with the next 5 games against division rivals or playoff teams." Couldn't handle the Blitz, but took care of business against the Bandits. Malones and Elephants this week continue the challenging part of the schedule.

22. (1-3) Rio Stars (23)
A couple tough games last week show the Stars aren't quite ready for the big time, but they get 3 lower ranked teams in a row to keep up the bid for trying again next season.

23. (1-3) Juggernaut (26)
A convincing win over the Dumplings keeps Juggernaut in the Thunder race. They'll move into that second spot if they can defeat Rome on Tuesday.

24. (1-2) Werewolves (25)
They got on the board with a win against the Jacks, but the schedule doesn't get any easier with dates against Sonderborg, Ravens, and the Bobbers.

25. (0-4) Norfolk Dumplings (20)
"none can afford to start 0-4." And here we are, tough losses early and the Dumplings are in the hole. Good news is they are only a game back from avoiding relegation.

26. (0-4) Juggernaut Jackalopes (27)
The Jacks need to get this next one against the Werewolves, because after that we've got Bobbers, Pirates, Ducks, and Runners. That is a very tough way to open a season.

27. (0-4) Poznan Knights (29)
"the real test on how they stack up in Monarchs comes against the Pirates." They've hung tough in some games, but the Pirates were just too much. Tuesday's game against Rio should be a good gauge for both teams.

28. (0-4) Bretzfeld Bandits (28)
They played the Ducks and Pete's fairly close, but the Elephants and Bridges had their way. They get Rio tomorrow before a much needed bye week.

29. (1-3) BETIS SANPOL (30)
They got their freebie and now it's back to difficult teams. The Ducks and Lions will add a couple more losses.

30. (2-2) Social Distance Runners (6)
"Someone should make a bet how many times I reference this division being ridiculously tough throughout the season..." It's gotten less tough as the Runners have decided on a mid season rebuild. Good luck and enjoy the team building!

31. (0-4) Helsinki Gangsters (31)
"Can Henry find a way to beat the bot for the first pick? They are currently tied as "Botwatch Season 42" continues!" Not sure what the third tiebreaker is, but it's currently showing The Gangsters as the #1 pick.

Good luck to all in the coming week, stay warm except for Linkleo. I'll mail you some snow, you'll love it!

Today is the first match with a diminished team. The Bobbers will blow off the rook in my socially distanced arena in front of around 130000 spectators on a giant Zoom call. And todays team will be the best of the remaining season as many more players are leaving tomorrow. They told me they don't want to live thru something like this ever again. On the other hand I have young guys playing Elite who did not even know what Elite was. Actually, some of them stil wonder, why they picked up American Football in the first place as they seem to have neither talent not strength nor speed.

Great read from you once again. Thank you Rufio !

I am afraid being "too high" on the ranks. Next week (and also today) will be decisive. I think it will get really really where I am actually standing in this ranking.

I will be waiting for it! But talking seriously now: I hope you all stay warm and healthy.
