I have a quite talented young receiver who has no chance to get any snaps at his position (as I have at least 4 even more talented receivers), so I'm wondering whether it would be a smart idea to move him to QB, as he already has 32 VIS and POS and AGI are in the 20s too, so it wouldn't be too hard to convert him.
Point is that even though he has great speed (50), his Int (43.5) and strength (38.5) aren't state of the art for a QB.

So what do you guys think? Would this guy work out as a (mostly back-up) QB?

Depends on what you want from a backup QB

Because of his intelligence, I think his passing window will be too low. I would convert him to CB. What he lacks in ability to tackle, he should make up for with the ability to cover WRs and intercept the football.

Honestly - the QB must be a 50 is a myth as far as I'm concerned.

40 and above is absolutely fine. I would prefer his strength a little higher for QB.

Use him (or sell) as a WR. His speed is

Or convert him to a free safety if you need one.

I'd be a bit leery of the low strength in the secondary. Nothing worse than having your safety blow a tackle and watching a guy with 35 speed run for an 80 yard touchdown... If you do put him in the secondary, just make sure to really overcompensate with the Tackle training.

I agree, 50 INT at QB isn't necessary, but it does affect the passing window, per Pete: Decision Window. That's enough for me to think this player isn't optimal for QB.

Thanks you guys

Unfortunately I have another question, I have these four players on my roster:

Player A
45 Strength / 49 Speed
36.5 Int
Track Star ( = 51 Speed)

Player B
48.3 Strength / 44.6 Speed
50 Int
Sure Tackler

Player C
46 Strength / 46 Speed
48.6 Int
Sure Tackler

Player D
46.6 Strength / 47.4 Speed
43.5 Int

Player E
44.6 Strength / 48.5 Speed
40.6 Int

Now I have to split up this group in LBs and SFs and I don't know what to do.
One question would be: How important is INT for OLBs? I'm aware that it is important for MLBs, but I don't know about the OLBs.
Another question is whether the 44.6 SPD rating of Player B is enough to play MLB/SF?

My first idea is:

MLB - Player C (back-up)
OLB - Player A (starter); Player D (back-up); Player E (back-up)
SF - Player B (starter/back-up?)

Can I assume that these guys are all developed with defensive skill sets? If not, the range of positions would be wider.

Player A
FS

Player B
MLB

Player C
SS or MLB2

Player D
OLB

Player E
OLB

I believe that player B can play anywhere on the defense. Yes, his speed is slightly below my own personal speed thresholds, but his strength, intelligence, and trait make him very attractive. When his positional skills get trained up, he should perform adequately.

Ok where would you make this guy play to get the best out of his crazy salary ?
I know he looks like a perfect OLB (he plays OLB), but I am wondering if he would not be more impactul at CB1. ? I am tired of seing my CBs missing tackles.

I feel it's a pity to primarily "only" use it as a pass rusher, but I am not sure how heavily are OLB's involved in the passing game ? I have the feeling they are only competing against TE's on passing plays or backing up missed tackles by CB's.

Although his high strength does help against rushing plays I guess.

SPEED : 49
STR : 48
AGI : 49

INT : 41

VIS : 50
POS : 50
TACK : 50

EXP : 5*

So, CB or OLB ?
