My guess is that once the QB has succeeded with his pass roll (not overthrown) then the abilities of the pass catcher and defender are combined to calculate the completion roll odds, say something like:
Completion 70%
Incompletion 29%
Interception 1%

Then with the trait interception would go up to 1.05% chance of happening.

Again that's a guess though.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback.
It is my option 2) (add +5% in the end of calculation)
This would mean that we can compare two equally developed defenders but one with the trait.
Because, against the same opponent receiver in the same passing situation (not overthrown), the one with trait has a full +5% of interception probability.
So the increased % of probability due to the trait is always +5% and is not related to the of the non physical skill value of the player.
Let me say… a player with VIS=30 or VIS=50 in the end of the calculation gives +5% of increased probability. (of course we can suppose the interception % calculated before adding +5% is less for the player having VIS = 30)
In this case a trait of Long Reach is seems to me to be more important of a trait like Track Star, or Strong Arm, or Natural Leader that increase of +5% only a skill attribute.

Not necessarily. If my guess is correct going from 1% chance of INT to 1.05% means 1 extra INT every 2,000 attempts! If you get +5% to Strength or Speed it should have an effect (albeit smaller) on every play.

"The teams placed at #25 - 28 have to play against the Divisional Playoff Losers of the league below in the same region. The higher league Teams have Home advantage. The winners of those matches will play in the higher League level next season, while the losers of those matches will play in the lower League level. The matchups are random.

The 4 Conference Championship games participants of the lower league will promote directly to the next League level, and the places #29 - 32 will relegate directly down to the lower league. The way those teams go down are random.
"

I got this from the manual, does this mean the top 4 teams will always promote and the bottom 4 will always demote with the next bottom/top 4 playing a game to decide who promotes/demotes?

Basically just looking for clarification on how promotion/demotion works and how likely I'm gonna get wrecked next season

It is unlikely there is a bot flush in Dragon. Therefore you will need to at least reach the division games to promote. If you win your division game you will promote. If not you will play another game against one of the 24-27 Dragons 1 team. The winner of this game will play in Dragon 1 next season.

Its up to you. You are the GM of your franchise.

At the moment, your football team consists of players from the street.
Your coaching staff is non-existent.
Wrecking potential is at 100%.

Without significant investments in veteran players and staff, that chance wont move the slightest. But if you do some smart moves, its possible to avoid direct-relegation spots (29-32) next season.

But dont be foolish and act like a wannabe playoff contender on the market. One top and overpaid player doesnt make a team.

good luck

As you can see it in the manual (Relegation if no Elite team is involved), it's not about "top 4 teams" or "the bottom 4", it's about :
- The teams placed at #25 - 28
- Divisional Playoff Losers of the league below
- The winners of those matches
- the losers of those matches
- The 4 Conference Championship games participants
- the places #29 - 32

Thanks for the replies, I guess I'm gonna hope I end up staying in D2. Way over performed for my first season. Someone mentioned I had no coaching staff but everywhere else I read made it sound like I should be holding off on coaches for a bit as I build up a little. When should I start going for coaches?

Right it looks that way:
You have a full build stadium.
You started beginning of this season, so you don't need mediacenter money after rollover, since you have 48 RZA weeks for free (= 2 RZA seasons).
All money you need is the money for the next 7-8 rza weeks (updates) until the league games start again after rollover.
WITHOUT coaches that's for you roughly 2.5-4.0 mio, if you play longer in the playoffs and friendly that's even less.
Whatever you have above that could be spend on coaches to hire and weekly wages.
But you should think about some kind of setup, before hiring. Maybe you read my guide for that topic?
My guess is, you have enough money to support any coaches setup until the rollover comes and beyond, if you avoid a very expensive one.
