I like the season so far.
Some upsets, some surprises and some teams just don't get down.

Right now it all looks like a rematch of Alabama vs. Clemson will happening in the national title game, but the road is still long and injuries can happen, besides upsets on the worst possible day.

It will be interesting when the first coach will be fired, Butch Jones looks like the natural choice for that after the shut-out-loss against Georgia, at home.
But other coaches do also likely, so we will see.

First the 3 games I selected as the BLOCK OF GRANITE TOP 3 GAMES FOR WEEK 5

Sat, Sept. 30
#2 Clemson @ #12 Virginia Tech
Clemsons defense did a great job stopping the Hokies and VT was more or less only able to score in garbage time in the 4th quarter.
Even there did the defense score an INT-TD, so the great comeback was easily defended.
The Tigers are the favorite to win the ACC now, for sure and the Hokies will have to fight for the right to meet them in the ACC-title game.
Best contender in their division looks to be Miami.
Maybe North Carolina State will put a dent into someone's seasons plans, but it seems right now unlikely they can beat Clemson and first have to beat Louisville next week.
Clemson 31 - Virginia Tech 17 -> Jacks TOP 3 GAMES Score: 9-7

Fri, Sept. 29
#5 USC @ #16 Washington State
The game went back and forth and at the end did the good Wazzu defense seal the deal with a forced fumble, which USC lost and did give WSU the ball to run out the clock and win against the Trojans.
Now it looks like the teams to beat in the PAC12 are from the state of Washington, with both the Cougars and the Huskies unbeaten.
Both have already won against good teams and are both now highly ranked.
USC did fall a bit, but has still all the chances to win the south division.
Their next contender still has to be found, maybe Utah, maybe UCLA, maybe Colorado.
USC 27 - Washington State 30 -> Jacks TOP 3 GAMES Score: 10-7

Sat, Sept. 30
#24 Mississippi State @ #13 Auburn
Not a close game as expected.
Mississippi State did basically fell apart and Auburn did outscore them big time.
It's now hard to tell, how good MSU really is, since LSU seems to choke big tie, so that big win against LSU is discounted every week more and more.
Auburn looks right now like a contender, which would make the Iron Bowl against Alabama interesting again, but until then a lot of games have to be played.
I'm still not sold on the Tigers, but they win, so it's undeniable they can play.
Mississippi State 10 - Auburn 49 -> Jacks TOP 3 GAMES Score: 11-7

Other interesting games:

Fri, Sept. 29
#14 Miami @ Duke
Duke had no chance and Miami secure a win of 31-6 to become one of the leading contenders in their division.
Duke lost that important game, but will likely at least go bowling this season which is always good for a Blue Devils team.
Jacks interesting games Score: 8-6

Sat, Sept. 30
#13 Oklahoma State @ Texas Tech
Highscoring game and at the end were the Pokes the winner.
I said 45 to 35, but the Cowboys won against the Red Raider only 41-34.
Jacks interesting games Score: 9-6

Sat, Sept. 30
Iowa @ Michigan State
Michigan State did reload their pride and anger stock and did survive at home against Iowa 17-10.
Tough loss for Iowa, big win for MSU.
Jacks interesting games Score: 9-7

Some other interesting results of week 5:
Utah State won against BYU 40-24. I'm asking myself whether BYUs coach Kalani Sitake is also on a hot seat, since BYU can't afford to lose many games and need a bowl game.
Florida State won against Wake Forest to secure the first win of the season, 26-19.
Ohio did give UMass their 6th loss of the season by winning 58-50!
Kansas State won against Baylor 33-20. Baylor now 0-5.
Alabama did destroy Ole Miss 66-3. Ole Miss now in a real down spiral.
Troy did upset LSU at LSU 24-21. I think Ed Orgeron is not very loved right now in the state of Louisiana.
Marshall did upset Cincinnati 38-21.
